Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant in general. If he wasn't following Orochimaru around or felt his influence, then I would wonder if Kabuto would change at all. I guess my answer to your question would have to be that I was pondering if he would be a bad guy or not. Kind of a change of heart, I suppose.

Well that's what I find attractive about Kabu-sama... you never can tell can you?

Hasn't he mentioned something about his "old blood" before. Kabuto is probably harboring a lot of dark secrets we don't know about. He's not the nicest fellow, and he's quite snarky... but so am I - yet he goes around healing bystanders and doing random good deeds.

Your absolutely right, it's something to wonder.

To me though... it doesn't really matter in the end. I think regardless of his interaction with Orochimaru... he would always find himself torn between "good" and "evil". Any human who can stand to look at themselves from both sides often are... yet they can somehow live in somewhat of a peace once they realize that is their nature.
Only those who have a closed mind, or aren't strong enough mentally and emotionally lock themselves in one corner of the room.

When Kabuto is with Orochimaru do I sense that he has locked himself away. like he says.... He "clung to Orochimaru's power"... almost blindly.

But I believe in him. Kabu-sama is a very gifted and intelligent guy.

I love how deep these conversations can progress. But yes, I agree with you, Agent Spectre. Kabuto is definitely gifted, and no doubt, intelligent. I don't believe he'll ever side completely with evil or good, but it'll be interesting to see future into the manga how he stands.

Yes, Orochimaru has some influence over him, whether it be power or something else entirely. "Locked himself away" is a great way to describe that. Honestly, I couldn't think of anything else to describe it.

What I find interesting is all those dark secrets he hasn't revealed. I have no doubt in my mind some of those will be kept secret, but it would definitely be something nice to know about some day. Of course, once you know Kabuto's past, his reputation will probably change -- for the good or bad. If this "old blood" is really that dark, then I honestly wonder if he used to be completely evil. However, that doesn't explain why he is torn when it comes to his standing. I don't know if it was just something natural to him when it comes to healing others because of medical instinct, but something would've had to change to have him torn in such a way.
