Default Valentine's Day: Love it or hate it?
So which one is it?

I personally love valentine's day but most people I know hate it with a passion. If you hate it, let's hear why. If you like it, let's hear why too. I want to know the reasons for each because I personally can't comprehend how people can hate the holiday of love. So please, enlighten me, if you can.

Hmmm, I dislike it.

I think it's because it's just another greeting card holiday and an excuse for Hershey's to sell more chocolate.

Maybe I'm just bitter cause I've never had a Valentine. Lol.

I've never had a valentine either.

but i can never bring myself to be bitter or resentful. i just laugh and enjoy watching other people who do have valentines be happy.

It's also my cousin's birthday and her son was born at 10:31 pm on Halloween!

As for Valentine's Day, I don't really care for it one way or the other.

Agrees with Ryuuko...except I HATE it with a passion...it is all propaganda....just a way to make more money...plus when you get your heartbroken twice on the same holiday that is supposed to be about love...and then the others you usually spend either alone...or as te "tag along" yeah I hate it....

hmm..i do think there is a certain obligation for people to go out and buy candy and flowers. but if that's all people think of the holiday, then they are sorely mistaken. i somewhat agree though that valentine's day is somewhat materialistic in today's society. kind of like christmas. people spend so much time worrying about material things that they glaze over the true purpose of the holiday.

i say even if you don't have a valentine or anything, you can still celebrate love because love exists in many forms. you could love your parents, your pets, your school or whatever. i think all of that counts for valentine's day.
