USE THIS AS A REFERENCE FOR EVERYTHING - Fight like in the anime, do everything else like the games.
1: Follow the site rules, obviously.
2. You must be a new trainer with only 1 Pokemon. Every rp with the same character that takes place in a different region must start over, but you may resume with your original team if you go back to the other region you were with before. For example, You rp in Hoenn and have 6 badges and 4 Pokemon, but when you rp with that character in Johto you must start with only your starter of that region and no badges. but then if you go back to rping the Hoenn region, you will still have your 6 badges and 4 Pokemon.
*If you FINISH your journey in a region, you CAN continue into another region with your same team. HOWEVER, Gym Leaders will have different and stronger Pokemon than those who are still on their first in that region. The same applies for the 3rd and 4th and 5th regions you visit.

***You can only rp with characters of the same region if you want a partner. No rping with someone if theirs is for region #1 and yours is #2. *****You do not have to have an rp partner. HOWEVER, if you see someone breaking the rules, PM me immediately!!
3. You can't start off with an evolved Pokemon or Legendaries. However, Pokemon that don't evolve can be used as a starter (i.e. Absol, Pinsir, ect). There are a few exceptions, like Pikachu in Kanto but Pichu in Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh, or Roselia in Hoenn but Budew in Sinnoh.
4. You can't have or catch a Pokemon not native to the region. Meaning you can't catch a Shinx in Kanto or start with a Shroomish in Johto. An exception is the Sevii Islands, which has Johto Pokemon native to them. However, the Sevii Islands can't be visited at the beginning. If needed, check Bulbapedia or Serebii for a list of what Pokemon is in what region.
*For Sinnoh, you may use any of the Pokemon in Platinum's Pokedex, which includes Eevee and Ralts.
***Please remember to add in nicknames if your Pokemon have them, and also update your character posts whenever you get a new Pokemon or Badge. It is easier to keep track this way.
****Make sure that the Pokemon you want to catch is in the current route your in. No catching Sneasels by New Bark Town or Magmar in Viridian Forest. Keep it real and true to the games, please. And if the Pokemon is rare, don't make it come out of nowhere. Actually TRY and search for it.
5. You may choose up to 4 different starters, 1 for each region, or create a different character if you like. You can choose any Pokemon within the rules, even if someone else already has the same starter.
6. You can only have up to six pokemon with you at a time.
7. Each pokemon is only allowed to have one ability, and up to six moves. You yourself have to keep track of said moves.
8. Whenever you catch a pokemon, aquire a new gym badge, or anything noteworthy, send a private message my way so I can get it updated in this post.
9. Don't join someone else's rp unless they gave you permission to. It's really annoying to have someone jump into an rp and mess it up.
10. Your character can't be related to any main series' characters. You can't be Ash's cousin, Pearl's sister, Prof. Elm's daughter, or Silver's girlfriend.
11. Please try to refrain from naming your Pokemon or character with the same name as someone else's Pokemon or character. Especially if you two are in the same region.
12: If you wish to create a Gym Leader OC, PM ME the details! It won't be accepted if you post it in the thread. You must also already have had rp'd on here before and have a normal OC.
13: NO GOD-MODDING! You can't dodge every attack, control your opponent's actions (i.e., 'Infernape use Flamethrower and Pikachu can't dodge and he faints!'), ect.
"I use thunderbolt and send a bolt of electricity at my opponent" - Acceptable
"I use thunderbolt and hit my opponent with it" - Unacceptable
14. Rule-breakers will be warned 2 times then blacklisted for humilation and shame and will be banned from rping if you continue to break the rules.

These 3 trainers were always by eachothers' sides. They all obtained each badge in the Kanto region, and soon after migrated to Sinnoh. These 3 trainers are now nowhere to be found, and nobody knows where they went at all.

Personality: Loop is kind of friendly, and he enjoys company from time to time. He loves to battle and to prove that he is better than some people. He loves figuring out interesting strategies to obliterate the opponent.

He has a belt, where he carries his pokeball. Loop owns ninja stars.
Background: Loop's dad died when he was 14 from terminal cancer. His father's one dying wish was that Loop took care of his father's Aipom. The Lipperick family has been known for raising Aipoms. Loop never was the same after his father's death. He became very cold after that. He refused to socialize(except with his Aipom), and his mother was much worse. She spiraled into a deep depresseion and eventually she took her own life, leaving Loop forced to go to an orphanage, with his only friend, Aipom. Aipom began to be cold to people as well. At the orphanage, Loop was the oldest by a few years. He won all the matches with his Aipom at his side.
-4 Years Later-
Loop was 18 when he left the orphanage. He had grown up, and was fully ready to destroy the gym leaders. He was motivated to be the best, to make his father proud. He was determined to have the whole world know his name. Loop was a bit kinder from his experiences at the orphanage. His aquaintances would be missed, even if only a little bit. Loop set off for the first gym, in Violet City

Personality: Ambipom is the king of dirty tricks, and always wants to fight. It's very offensive when it fights. Even though it keeps the pressure on, it's very open to using weird strategies to finish the job.

Because of this, he never made any friends and learned to only show affection to his Absol. As he grew, he became stronger and decided to take the gym leader challenge.

Name: Raeford (Nicknamed Ray by those who know him personally) Age: 17 Region: Kanto Starter: Squirtle Personality: Quiet, nice but calm and collected. Sometimes misunderstood due to his stoic-like nature. He rarely speaks, but is mute by choice than by inability. Wants to be a trainer to bond with Pokemon and to be strong. Bio: Raeford's always been a quiet but friendly boy. His father died when he was young so he's been raised solely by his mother. He's a childhood friend of Brad Oak, but the more conceited and arrogant Brad got, the further apart they came. He's also somewhat friends with Lilybeth, who moved to Pallet Town just two years before the present. He rarely speaks to anyone because he usually doesn't need to; A a young age he discovered a dormant trait within his family that grants him limit Psychic powers, namely to somewhat speak telepathically to both humans and Pokemon alike, which also allows him some very basic understanding with his Pokemon. But overuse of this ability causes him headaches due to this power being underdeveloped. Usually, he will communicate with others via body language or by writing in a notebook he keeps on him. On the day he and Brad received their Pokemon, however, he lost his first Pokemon battle with his rival despite having the type advantage, which causes him some doubt with whether or not he'll be a good enough trainer for his Pokemon. He resolves to battle through the Indigo League to prove to himself, others, and his Squirtle that he can do better. Other Stuff: He needs to keep his emotions in check, because if they get out of control he could lose control over his powers. His ability to speak and slightly understand Pokemon is considered an extremely rare ability, even among Psychics.
Appearance: It's not exactly like this, but it's the best I could do with the given items. The fur isn't there, all of the reds are the same shade/value/hue/whatever, the shirt is all black except for the white sleeves, but his pants is still grey/gray. Also the star is a black Pokeball symbol. A few other minor things but w/e. It is based on Red so that's why he looks like him. It's suppose to be a mix of his original and remake designs with my own flair. Starter: Squirtle

Backstory: Tyrant was a very spolied rich kid. His parents are professional thug lords that are very wealthy yet corrupted. Tyrant was also corrupted and selfish and believed that power and money were the ways to success.
Due to the Police Force and their strong Pokemon Tyrant's parents were caught and taken away. Tyrant was able to get away from the police.
Tyrant ran and changed his apperance and name to avoid the police. Tyrant was now and orphan with no place to go. He lived on the steets and fought for himself and himself alone. He stole food and money from the weak.
One day he found a group of Svipers attacking a pack of Houdour. The battle was fierce and they fought over food. All of the pokemon were injured. Something then came over Tyrant! He decided to save a Houndour out of the blue. They soon both fled the area.
Tyrant and his new companion became close. Houdour was very loyal and thankful for being saved by the brave child. Tyrant and Houndour worked togehter to get food and survive. Tyrant realized that Power was the key. He knew pokemon meant power and he would free and reunite with his family by being the strongest trainer in Johto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has a pretty outfit which is mostly black. She wears two black gloves with one white spike like the one on Lucario's paws.
Personality: She is usually shy and doesnt talk much, but is still a nice person and loves Pokemon. She will warm up to you a lot once she knows you and is very feirce when she battles because of the strength of her Pokemon.

Gear: a relatively small and lightweight backpack/satchel-like thing that only has one strap that she slings over one shoulder and wears to the side, on her right hip. It carries all her essential items, including pokeballs, medicine, tms/hms etc.
Personality: kind to pokemon and other trainers, doesnt like to back down from a challenge, is very competitive and believes in her team's strength and abilities. Her best friend is her Treeko and she would do anything if her pokemon were in danger.

Read the rules. Charmander is native to Kanto and neither are native to Hoenn. I also said everyone starts with no badges.
But other than that, it's accepted.

Official Pokemon Roleplaying Thread!
It's not exactly like this, but it's the best I could do with the given items.
