Chapter Twenty-Two: The Two in the Mountains
After over half an hour of waiting, the black doors finally opened, with a bang. A staircase was beyond it, leading to complete darkness. Vatas looked at it while Nui silently closed his book and put it back in his tools pack. A man stood before them, half of his body hidden in shadow. A large golden lance rested on his back; he was clad in red armor, his blood-red samurai war helmet reflecting with it as well as hiding part of his spiky red hair. Three long scars scratched the surface around his damned black eyes, adding to the grim expression on his face, turned hat way from scores of years and years on the battlefield. Vatas offered a small smile and said, "How are you doing, Senso?"
"Lady Kurikage, can I handle this?"
On the deepest parts of the Northern Mountains Range, Ashuuri Hyokai glanced at each of the ten enemy shinobi surrounding her, prepared for the battle with them. She wore a white snow coat, missing a hood and the white cloak matched along with it.
Five scrolls were strapped on her back, her white hair covering part of it. Makeup streaked her face as a playful smile curled on her lips, reminding lookers of a cat toying with its food.
She had one hand on her scroll while the other forming a handsign. Another ninja stood next to her: it was the Kurikage. Wearing a long white cloak, she wore a plain white vest under that cloak: her black hair fighting against that aspect. Her face seemed alive, a soft smile expressing it, and her silver eyes reflecting in the sun, that paled in the icy mountains, the snow blowing across everyone's faces.
"Yes, go right ahead."
Note: Sorry, I wasn't feeling well today, so this chapter was late and a little short as well.
