Default Re: Legio XIII

Name: Amund Frostason
Religion: Norse
Origin: Sweden, North Germania
Age: 20
Rank: Warlord
Allegiance: Frostason tribe; mercenary
Appearance: As a man of the North, Amund is a tall, strong and handsome man with blonde long hair, long beard and moustache, and ice blue eyes.
Clothing: A sky blue cape and simple pants of animal hide.
Armor: Chainmail on the torso and arms, supported by leather over the thighs and groin as well as a helmet with eye and nose protection.
Weapons: Viking sword, Dane axe, Viking shield
Traits: Skilled as a warrior and warlord equally and a great source of inspiration to his men, but is naturally not used to large-scale plains battles. He prefers guerrilla warfare in the forests or quick raids.
Interests: Women, warfare, raiding and plundering
Personality: Warlike and never backing out of a fight, but despite his cold stare and intimidating appearance he cares deeply for his tribe and has often risked his own life to save lesser men. In war he works for his tribe above all else, although they might temporarily sell themselves as mercenaries. He has little sense of honor, however, preferring profit before justice and often participating in lootings or piracy.

Background: Amund Frostason is a powerful and brutal warlord in the cold North, raised for warfare to give his tribe wealth and power. He is not self-centered and power-hungry for personal reasons, though, as only the strongest tribe survives in the end and he cares deeply for his small population. Amund's combat skills are brutal and his men belong to one of the fiercest tribes in Germania, plundering the shores of the south to steal more wealth. Amund and his men now serve as mercenaries down south because of the large-scale conflict there as the Roman Empire wishes to expand. In the end their loyalty is with the highest bidder.

Faction: Amund Frostason and his band of Norsemen is a part of the Suiones, a North German tribe described by the Roman historian and senator Tacitus in 98 AD as "the largest men on earth, a head taller than the biggest Roman with wide arms filled with muscles and yellow hairs and beards reaching down to their waists. They are a powerful tribe distinguished not merely for their arms and men, but their powerful fleets, with long ships that can travel in any sea or river and outmaneuver the fastest Roman vessel. They live in wooden villages as their southern brothers, but never have such a powerful force existed within Germania."
The Suiones would be known as Vikings a few centuries later, becoming one of the most powerful military forces in world history that made all of Europe tremble with fear before the men of the North.

Army setup:
Amund Frostason's warband, which might swear allegiance either to the Romans or their barbaric enemies, consists of the following amount of troops:

200 slave warriors of various origins
60 berserker axemen
140 Viking axe raiders
100 Norse swordsmen
55 Norse archers
45 Huscarls
20 longships

This totals 600 men and 20 ships, and the numbers are steadily increasing as Amund captures slaves that he forces into battle or hires mercenaries wherever he goes, enjoying to mix warriors from different cultures to learn from them in their arts of war.

Note: I hope that this character is acceptable, due to the fact that his equipment belongs to a 7th or 8th century Viking and may not have existed before Christ. Although there are no records of what weapons Norsemen used during the Ancient era, I believe that they were similar.
