I cackled as I imagined the destruction of this place. As I was about to shoot at all of them, black and white chains wrapped around my arm. It was Thomas. He almost blew up my arm, but I managed to tug back. The chains then grasped around the energy ball. He did some quick thinking and threw them at Schmidt, wrapped in chains.
The chains exploded, flying him far enough back for the ball to explode. Apparently, as the ball left me, it lost most of its energy and didn’t warrant a nuke. However, the explosion was stunning, to say the least. It blew off most of the walls, this side of the base. The cliff side collapsed on Schmidt. I buckled to my knees, as I couldn’t move at all. I fell and blacked out.
I woke up with a jolt. I looked around me. The infirmary seemed normal. The walls weren’t torn down, and the hole where the BD’s broke in was being patched up. Next to me was Roy, resting. My blood boiled. He almost killed me in the test. The fact that the figure with Laura’s face was there was no coincidence that something similar happened during the test.
I jumped out of my cot and kicked him over. Everyone gasped and looked at me grasping his neck. “So, you finally show yourself, huh?” I yelled at him. Some guys tried to pry me off of him, but I kept yelling at him. He turned into flames for a split second, slightly searing my hand. He coughed and stepped back.
“I knew you were going to be angry, but this is kind of excessive,” he coughed. It took me a minute to return to my senses.
“W-where’s the broken wall? What happened to me after I blanked out?” I asked, freaked out.
“Broken wall? You were under the lust test, and you failed and blacked out. I got yelled at, and had to argue over it for a while. We’re not going to be testing for like until the whole battle here is done. Anyways-“
“No! What about the part where Thomas asks me to be special ops, or where the BDs break in? What about when Schmidt grabs my heart and-“
“H-how do you know those few things?” Roy asked, stunned. ”Thomas was planning on letting you know about the position, and people did break through the wall. But, Carlos Black, a private, had his heart devoured. I managed to pick off the woman, but Thomas chased after him. And why are your eyes…” Everything started to blur.
Suddenly, I was on the ground, tackled by other people, and being cuffed. I saw that I had made another scene, this time knocking over other cots, but I didn’t manage to injure any others. I was dragged off to a cell for the rest of the war, just like Alex was. I sat down, and pondered about what was happening…
“Die!” Thomas yelled, after shooting a bolt of darkness straight towards Schmidt, and detonating it with some light. Schmidt, now full lizard flew back into a wall and charged towards Thomas and tried to slash his face open with his claws.
Thomas made an explosion at his feet, and jumped into the air. He then shot 5 more bullets of light and darkness, but Schmidt dodged them. Finally, he rushed forward and almost impaled Thomas, but he made a shield of darkness in time. The General peered at Thomas’s face as he muttered; “You didn’t tell them about your real background, didn’t you?” The claws started cracking the shield.
“That doesn’t… matter…” he replied.
“Who’s ever heard of a German with a surname of Peralxi?” Schmidt cackled as he broke through the shield. Luckily, Thomas shined some light in his eyes and made him flinch. Thomas managed to backflip back and threw a larger bomb and made Schmidt fall back.
“Shut up! They’ll know,” he panted.
“Really, now? You honestly don’t think you’re going back, do you? Even if you kill me, you’ll die along with me. That’s all that matters,” Schmidt smiled.
“This was a… suicide mission?” Thomas stepped back.
“More or less. All that matters is that you’re dead and that you’re replaced by that wind boy,” he said.
“Hayden, huh? That’s the guy you want? How do you know about him?” Thomas asked.
“The shadow has her ways. She’ll love devouring you and I, and leave that ‘Hayden’ boy to do all of the work he has set out for him,” Schmidt replied, grinning maniacally.
“Even a ruthless general lost his mind to The End?” Thomas asked.
“Maybe so, but that won’t change anything!” he lunged forward and continued the fight.
