Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

6/10

Being a long time fan of the Pirates movies I went into this film with high hopes that it would be the great start of the supposed new trilogy. I thought this film was indeed alright but it was no where near perfect. A lot of the film I was sitting there just waiting for it to end. I personally think they should have edited down a lot of the time of Black Beard's ship. But that's just me. Johnny Depp still plays a great Jack Sparrow and it was nice to see that with the absence of Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom that his character was able to survive on his own. The love interest was alright. Though it wasn't truly needed.

127 Hours

10/10

Jeeze I CANNOT BELIEVE I had not reviewed this yet! Well anyways this film stars James Franco who plays the real life guy Aron Ralston. Well for some background on this Aron went on a trip to Blue John Canyon and ended up getting stuck with his hand smashed against a canyon wall. James Franco made this movie really interesting because it's pretty much him standing there for a long time. As the movie progresses you actually feel bad for him and you want him to always get his arm free... but you already know that he is going to amputate his arm. The amputation scene was amazing. Very realistic. At that moment it was nearing the end of how long he would be able to survive. It is truly amazing how much a person can truly take. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Halloween (1978)

10/10

This film is a classic... For starters Halloween is about the serial killer Michael Myers who killed his older sister when he was 6 years old. He escapes the day before Halloween and starts a murder spree on his hometown. This was Jamie Lee Curtis' first movie. The director John Carpenter did an amazing job with very little money. The scariest part of the film is the score. Check this film out. Seriously you WONT regret it.
