Chapter Twenty Two - General Maki
Maki stood before Rasen and his group, waiting for their first assault. Rasen turned to the others.
"You look after Hikari, I think I should face this one alone." He told them.
"Are you insane?" Tempest scolded, "He's a general, how do you expect to defeat him on your own? Unless you use your power, but that's too dangerous."
"Tempest, I understand your concern, but this one, I need to do on my own." Rasen responded.
Tempest didn't look happy about it, but she said nothing more, Bella looked worried but didn't object.
Rasen turned to Maki, "Looks like it's going to be just us, dragon." Maki commented, "Good, that's the way I wanted it!" He rushed forwards and threw a punch at Rasens' head which Rasen barly managed to avoid, Makis' momentum forced his punch to continue onwards and his fist collided with the ground.
Rasen was expecting Maki to have hurt himself, but when Makis' fist hit the ground, it smashed through the stone, leaving a crater behind.
"W-wow...if I hadn't avoided that, that could have been my face with a crater in it." Rasen thought.
Maki straightened up and turned to Rasen, "Well, not bad dragon." He commented, there wasn't a hint of mocking in his voice, he clearly respected Rasen as an opponent.
Rasen backed up against the transporter and drew his blade, ready this time to fight. As Maki approached, he remembered his last fight with a dragon, the pain of that defeat, he was determined to win this time.
"You won't avoid me this time!" Maki exclaimed and he lunged forwards, his fist flying at Rasens nose, Rasen reacted quickly and tried to step out of the way and slash at Makis' arm, Rasens' blade missed and Makis' leg collided with Rasens', sending them both crashing to the floor.
Rasen rolled across the floor and stood up, Maki was a little slower, he seemed abit dazed, he may have hit his head on the transporter on the way down, he was lying with his head resting on the transporter and the rest of his body outside it.
The transporter started glowing and Maki suddenly realized where he was. "NO!" He yelled and he tried to get up quickly, there was a flash of light and suddenly, Makis' head was gone, the transporter has zapped it away back to the centre, leaving the rest of his body behind.
Rasen was astounded, he had not expected to win in such an unexpected way. The others came over to Rasen.
"That was reckless Rasen, you got lucky." Tempest informed him.
"Never mind, lets get going, we have no time to argue." Rasen replied and the four walked onto the transporter, after a moment there was a flash and they were gone.
Undead walked along a hallway, heading towards a door within the centre, suddenly she paused, sensing a presence behind her.
"Must you be so perverted George?" She asked the seemingly empty room. There was a slight shimmer in the air and a red haired young man appeared from thin air as he deactivated his invisibility ability.
"Agh, you aren't that cute, well except for your ass." George teased.
"You wanted to ask me something?" Undead asked him, ignoring his comment.
"Ha ha, I can't slip anything past you, can I?" George laughed, "Well Undead, tell me something about your vision. You said that it's time had not come. Why? Are you saying that this boy doesn't have the ability to open the world?"
Undead thought for a moment, "I cannot see the future as clearly as Lolohwd can, however, this boys power rank seems too low to be able to control a dragon." She answered, "His life will end soon enough, it was a mistake, he was never meant to bond with a dragon, an event that should not have occured, it is only a matter of time until the universe puts that mistake right."
"A mistake?" George asked, "If that's true, Undead, let's make a bet, you wager your cute ass." He smirked when he said that. "That you can't judge if he is the real deal or not by his rank, if he defeats us, that would be proof enough, power rankings aren't absolute."
Undead thought for a moment, "By my vision, I will win. You're on."
