Chapter Eighteen - Hizoku Headquarters
Rasen and the others spent two days in mid district, allowing their wounds from the battle with the Dark Rangers to heal before moving on. After leaving the populated area of mid district and continuing upwards. Tempest halted them momentarily.
Tempest pointed towards a large opening in the wall ahead.
"Through here is Hizokus' turf, a little bit further until we reach the facility."
Bella turned to Hikari, "Just a little bit further Hikari, are you ok?"
Hikari nodded in response.
"Ok, let's get goi-" Tempest suddenly spun around, her eyes searching the semi-darkness of the tunnel behind her.
Rasen spoke, "Tempest? What is it?"
After a moment, Tempest faced the others again, "S-something...I thought I saw...I had the feeling someone was watching me." Tempest then snapped out it, "Come on, lets hurry."
As the group continued on, back in the tunnel, someone seemed to appear out of nothing, his red hair clearly visible in the half light.
"So, that's the dragon and it's followers...heh" He glanced at Tempest once more before she vanished into the opening along with the others.
"Still...nice ass!" He smirked.
Maikeru stood in front of the head scientist of Biokasei.
"I want to have a link, I want to have the power that Rasen has. I want to know how to obtain that power." He demanded.
"I'm telling you, it can't be done. There have only been three cases reported of a human linking with a dragon-type kaijuu, not including Rasen." The scientist tried to explain, he rubbed his black eye absent mindedly. "Two of them went insane during the initial stages of the link, and even the first, a chosen who had the highest possible power ranking, lost control of the link and chose to shut himself down. Besides, I don't have the power to create a link with a dragon."
"Are you telling me, there is no way for me to obtain the power that Rasen has?" Maikerus' eyes narrowed with anger.
"The only way to obtain the power of a dragon, is for the dragon to choose to give the power to you, which they would only do if they had good reason, if they stand to gain something from it." The scientist said "However, I might be able to help you in another way..."
Rasen and the others had reached Hizoku headquarters, but the base seemed to be deserted.
"This is Hizoku headquarters?" Rasen asked "Where is everybody?"
Tempest responded, "Well, we do have to maintain a certain level of secrecy."
Just behind them, Hikari was struggling to keep walking, she was breathing heavily and her pace dropped. Then, her knees buckled and she fell to the floor.
Hearing the noise, Bella, Rasen and Tempest spun around, "Hikari! Somebody help!" Tempest yelled and Hizoku members sprinted out, collecting Hikari and leading the others into another room.
Several minutes later, Rasen, Bella and Tempest were standing around a bed, airtight plastic curtains kept the dirty air out and a vent above the bed pumped cleaner air in, an IV drip was hooked up to Hikaris' arm, giving her some kind of medicine.
Rasen and Bella looked through the plastic, Hikari seemed to be sleeping.
"She'll live, for now at least." Tempest assured them.
"You had all this prepared?" Bella asked, "I'm impressed."
"Let's let her rest for a while," Tempest suggested, "I'll stay here with Bella and Hikari, Rasen, the leader of Hizoku wishes to speak with you."
