Chapter Six - Orders
Rasen and Hikari worked their way through the waste district. Rasen, leading her by the hand, keeping her close in case of Kaijuu attack. The whole time, he wondered about the wings on her back, what were they for? Why couldn't she talk? So many questions that he could think of no real answer for.
Rasen and Hikari, entered a large room, as they slowly made their way across it, Rasen heard a slight clicking noise.
Turning towards it and throwing an arm out in front of Hikari to protect her, Rasen saw the woman who had attacked the lift, rushing at him, clad all in blue and still wearing a red-eyed mask, she knocked Rasen over before he could draw his weapon and aimed her energy pistol at his face. Hikari was thrown back a few metres, where she sat up and stared at this woman fearfully.
Rasen heard a slight zapping noise as the gun began charging a shot. Energy guns normally aren't deadly, unless they hit you in a vital spot, or the head, they are also much more effective from close range. So if she fired, from this range, Rasen would be lucky if he had a head left.
Rasen stared down this woman.
The woman barked at him "Ranger! You can't help her, go, and leave her with me."
"What..?" Rasen didn't know how this woman thought he would leave Hikari with her.
The woman was looking at Hikari, she thought back to her mission orders.
The woman was standing in front of the Hizoku leader, the 'D' sewn into his jacket, representing his name. 'Demon'.
"Your target, is a lift leaving from Biokasei labs in lowdistrict."
"A retreval mission? What is it?"
"A humanoid....most likely....a child." The woman was horrified by the idea that a child would be used.
Demon spoke again.
"It should shed light...on just how far, our world has fallen."
Returning her attention to Rasen, she spoke again.
"We need that girl, she is the only hope we have of saving this rotten world."
"I don't care what you want, I don't deal with criminals!" Rasen shot back.
"Admirable...for a ranger, too bad you don't realize, there is more to this world than what you can see with your eyes."
The woman cocked her gun.
"Listen, there are some things, you would be happier not knowing, forget you ever met me, and forget you ever met, a girl with wings." She then turned her attantio to Hikari. "Here, come with me child."
Hikari stood, but to the womans astonishment, she went over to Rasen, and stood by him, she shook her head.
"Trust me, he can't help you."
Hikari shook her head again.
The woman thought for a moment. "All right ranger, lets work together, at least until we leave the waste district."
"I'm supposed to trust you?" Rasen said, disbelieving.
The woman then removed her mask, revealing a caring but stern face, she smiled.
"We both want to protect her, right? I'm Tempest."
Rasen looks uncertainly at Hikari, she gave him a little nod.
"Ok" Rasen held out his hand and Tempest helped him up.
"Let's go ranger."
Maikeru stood before Captain Kiseki after informing her of what had happened on the lift.
"A Hizoku attack? Rasen is missing? I see..." She then turned, facing away from Maikeru. "What happened to the cargo?"
"Cargo! I barely made it out alive!" He was surprised Kiseki was concerned about the cargo after hearing what had happened.
"That cargo was top secret, you should have secured it before coming back here."
"Falling from that height...there is no way it could have survived." Maikeru told her.
"The brass doesn't like excuses Maikeru, find the cargo, and get rid of it. No matter what 'it' looks like, get rid of it....permanently."
