Chapter Sixty-Eight: The Dusk Enters Part 1
: Wow, plenty of new characters in this Arc, eh?
Vatas walked in the dark. Unlike the normal darkness which proved no threat to Vatas, this darkness did. Truly overwhelming, Vatas prowled through whatever he was in. It was too dark to see where he was, but Vatas easily deduced what sort of area he was currently located in.
The atmosphere had suddenly dampened when he passed through the door. Followed by so, the oxygen was narrowed and seemed strictly limited. Also, there were two walls side-by-side Vatas.
This was clearly troubling, as Vatas's mind began aching. From the suppressed amount of oxygen, Vatas slumped down, collapsing onto the wall next to him.
His back leaned against the wall, his eyes began to close.
A crack of laughter sounded off.
Meanwhile, in the bonsai garden, Aqua Hallibel and Futa were training. As the first china tea cup soared toward Futa, he in return rolled in the left. A millisecond after, the tea cup landed in where Futa had stood a couple seconds ago, crashing onto the ground with a bang.
And a literal one at that. As the tea cup cracked upon impact, it literally exploded, sending Futa who was close to it flying. He flew into the nearby pond, smashing into the cold water as an enormous splash occurred. Aqua's eyes remained cold, as Futa emerged from the water after a few seconds. Dripping in water from head to toe, he got to his feet and took out something, as a small smile appeared on his young face.
"I won't go so easy on you again, Futa." Aqua said, a full set of fine china tea cups in her right hand. "That was a warm-up, right, master?" Futa asked, clenching his fist. "Exactly." Aqua replied, as a playful smile appeared on her beautiful face. And she threw the first set of china tea cups as Futa's fist loosened, opening to unveil a small pill. The pill was circular-shaped and blue, offering no difference than a usual pill.
As the set of tea cups flew at Futa with amazing speed, he threw the pill into the air. The pill quickly flew down, as it landed in his mouth with a dull thud.
"Hyper Dying Will, Achieved." Futa muttered.
As the training progressed between Futa and his master Aqua, bystanders would usually take a glance or two as they passed in their daily business. One thing that would greatly puzzle them is why the 4th Denkiteki
Aquamarine Hallibel was throwing around fine china tea cups.
However, after witnessing the destruction of which the first tea cup Aqua had thrown, they immediately realized why, and the true extent of Aqua's powers.
Because they found themselves glancing at a crater where the tea cup had landed, the crater large enough to bury a body in it.
". . I see." Toshi said as she laid on the hospital bed, staring at the dull ceiling. Nui sat on a cold metal chair beside her, nodding. The two were in a hospital room, the exact room Toshi was in yesterday, when Izumi had arrived to get Vatas and Sage. After Izumi's rampage, as well as Vatas and Sage's spar, the hospital room next to Toshi's had been completely annihilated to debris and rubble. Like all hospital rooms in this hospital, Toshi's was the same, with its dull features.
"So our mission is today, right?" Toshi questioned after a brief thinking. Nui in return replied, "What do you mean 'our' mission? You're too injured to participate in this, and you know that."
Then followed an uncomfortable aura of silence. Toshi's eyes remained on the ceiling, as she said nothing. Then she sighed and glanced at Nui. "I'm gonna go, no matter what you say."
"Well, then we're all settled here, right?"
Nui glanced behind, as Toshi's eyes narrowed in a sense of distaste. "Yo," Menrui said. He was standing on the window to Nui's left.
"Knock first!" Toshi shouted as she took out an object from under the blanket covering up to her waist. Now clenching a white hospital sandal, she threw it at Menrui. The sandal immediately connected and from impact, Menrui fell back, onto the soft grass outside the window.
"Geez, you're damn annoying." she muttered as she yawned and fell asleep.
Vatas stood in the everlasting darkness. The level of oxygen had returned, and from what it seemed, the walls had somehow vanished. However, he was more disturbed than ever. This aura he felt, it felt murderous. It was a chakra, of pure evil. It was downright bloodthirsty. Alarmed, Vatas set into a defensive stance, grasping his kunai.
Then the laughter emerged once again. It was horrible, coming as a low crack, slowly reverting into a high-pitch crackling. The laughter remained, as Vatas clenched his kunai, his eyes alert.
Then, light emerged. However, it was the wrong kind of light. It was red. Bloody red. Vatas found himself standing in a room painted wit blood. Blood hung everywhere, on the walls, as numerous corpses were sprawled on the ground, their blood flowing out, creating a pool of blood around their bodies. Vatas's eyes opened wide; this was a massacre.
"Please, please. . ."
The soft moan came from the south corner of the blood-painted room. Vatas spun around, as he saw a figure laying on the ground, barely able to move, his hand reaching toward a man. The man was standing, wearing a sleek black suit. He stood over the sprawled pleading figure like a god, as laughter emerged from him.
Pleading won't help you now. Time to meet your death.
The man grinned, as he lifted his hand, unveiling a gun. Sneering, his fat finger pressed against the trigger. "Hey, stop it!" Vatas shouted as he began to move, To his horror, he couldn't as he found his feet somehow glued to the spot. "Stop it!!" he yelled once again, as the man's finger pressed harder on the trigger.
And a shot was heard, as the begging moan ceased, and the figure's head splashed into the pool of fresh blood.
The man laughed. Standing in a room of death, of gory and blood, the man laughed, his dark laughter echoing. Vatas's eyes remained wide, as he fell to his knees. "S-stop. . ." he muttered, shocked.
"Mmn, you have a good scent, dear."
Vatas's eyes widened, as he found himself in a balcony. The sky was nearly dark, with the hints of a first quarter Moon appearing. The balcony he was on was decorated with dazzling flowers and offered a breathtaking view of the sky, as well as what was underneath the balcony.
However, Vatas couldn't see the gorgeous view, as he found himself next to a woman. He and the woman were in physical contact. The woman was silhouetted, due to the fact that she was in the shadows. "So how would you like it, dear?" the woman asked, seemingly in a smile. And Vatas realized all of a sudden, that the woman's teeth were fangs.
And that the fangs were budging
on his neck.
