Youtube video's in peoples signatures

From now on people who feel like having Youtube vid's in their sig must put them in spoilers. This is to further cut down on the problems for people who browse the forums by phone or by other mobile device's.

This has been a lesser known policy for a while now it seems. In the past some of you may have even been asked to put your vids in spoilers by someone with FAIL or moderation powers, or may have even had your vids spoilered by someone with sig editing powers. From now on however, having unspoilered youtube vids in your sig is simply not allowed and may end with loss of privileges if you have to be constantly reminded to spoiler them.

For those who don't know what spoilers are, you simply need to add these tags:

...around your youtube tags. Or you can just highlight the youtube tags and click the big  at the top of the text editor.

Is there any way this can be posted as an announcement? Posted in a thread like this, it could get lost amoung all the other threads and people may not see it?? :/

I like the idea. Sometimes I'm browsing through the forums and someone has a youtube vid in their signature. And they've posted like say 6 times out of 20 posts per page. And that gets really annoying because it kicks me out because there's not enough flash to display.

Good idea. Or just do a link instead.

This is great. When I sometimes browse these forums from my iPod, it's slow enough with the javascript ads and such. It would likely stop loading if YouTube videos were being loaded. For a while, I've had the showing of signatures disabled on my account, so this wouldn't happen, but I usually view the forums on my iPod as a guest.

Good decision! :)

I should've brought this up sooner. Finally I will be able to read every post on the page. And it probably won't take as long to load the pages with all the YouTube videos.

Thank god this is a rule, people's videos would block the post underneath their it was seriously getting on my nerves.

I disagree with this ruling, it is disastrous for the forums D:

I have one not in spoiler. Nope instead I did the old fashioned link in pretty blue letters at the top of my sig image. ^^ But it never bothered me before....the videos in sig images that is. Honestly I really could careless either way, but I also don't feel bad for those that it does bother... I am rude I guess....
