Set 18 new Mechanics.

this thread is for the new types of game mechanics put out in set 18.

Spoiler:

To all Naruto CCG players,

Set 18 introduces 2 New Mechanics, 2 New Game Play interactions (like face up BRs), and revamping of a previous Mechanic.

Here are the explinations to 2 of them, discuss and enjoy!

1) TRACKING
(When a Ninja with Tracking is put in play, name a Ninja. Your opponent’s
Ninjas that include that name are Tracked Ninjas. Only 1 Ninja name can
be Tracked at a time per player.)

EXAMPLE 1: Player A deploys Naruto Uzumaki, who has Tracking. When
Naruto comes in play, Player A names a Ninja card, the name can be
that of any Ninja that exists in the Naruto CCG game. Player B’s Ninjas
that include that name are now Tracked by Player A. If later in the game
Player A plays another effect that allows them to select a new name for
Tracking, then any previously chosen names are no longer Tracked by
Player A. Tracked does nothing on its own but instead interacts with
effects that reference Tracked Ninjas.

EXAMPLE 2: Player A deployed a Ninja with Tracking and names “Naruto
Uzumaki”. Player B also deploys a Ninja with Tracking and names “Sasuke
Uchiha”. Only Player B’s “Naruto Uzumaki” Ninjas are Tracked by Player A
and similarly, only Player A’s “Sasuke Uchiha” Ninjas are Tracked by player
B. If player A plays the effect “Your opponent’s Tracked Ninjas get -2/-2
during this turn.”, then only Player B’s “Naruto Uzumaki” Ninjas get -2/-2
during this turn.

2) New Mechanic ???

3) FACE-UP BATTLE REWARDS
Some effects turn a player’s Battle Rewards face up. These face-up
Battle Rewards remain face up until an effect turns them face down.
Face-up Battle Rewards are no different than face-down Battle Rewards
except that they are visible to both players. If an effect requires a player
to interact with Battle Rewards in a random manner, then all Battle
Rewards are turned face down and shuffled.

EXAMPLE: Player A plays an effect and turns 1 of their opponent’s Battle
Rewards face up. Later, Player A plays an effect that allows them to move
an opponent’s Battle Reward to their hand, Player A can choose the face up
Battle Reward. If Player A plays an effect that requires them to randomly
choose 1 of their opponent’s Battle Rewards, then Player A will have to turn
any face-up Battle Rewards face down, shuffle them, and choose 1. The
rest of the Battle Rewards remain face down as they are all again unknown.

Pasted straight from Bandai's website I see. xD

I found Tracking to be an unnecessary mechanic, but it seems pretty cool nonetheless.

Yup. I didn't see the point in adding more mechanics that are only marginally useful. They only added Mastery and Surge three sets ago.
