Do support characters count as characters being used for titles?

Okay so in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 there's titles for each character, using that character 30 times gets you that title. Well what about support characters? If I do team battle will the support characters count towards that too?

No. They must be the Lead character. I know this because I didn't have Itachi's title, and he's my main support.
