My idiot friend thinks that people on the internet are deceptive and most of the time they don't mean the hurtful comments that they say since they are "trolling" because they are just bored. He think i shouldnot get emotions on net or take anything seriously because of this. he saids only when i need to be seriosu than be so like cyber stalking or virus/hacking and stop being so "emotiona" on the the net. he claim that since people are anon on the internet they can be fake and mean as they want but no they are real i tell him :) he is falling into fallacies and insulting me. i want to teach him to live a more loving life and except people on internet as real people.

This type of thinking is a fallicy and we got in a loud fight about it than went on for hours. I told him that he is too cold, uncomfortable and that he doesn't have any love or happiness in his life is why he thinks this about people online. People online are just as good as one off of it if not better and I should take everything seriously and get emotional since it is real to me. He is arrogant to think having real life friends is better and not to get upset if someone insult me on forum. :)

he is a nice guy but a jerk for not beleiving in those of us on then et. Glad you guys will agree :)

To tell you this is Reality. Just like outside is Reality. There are multi reality's This is one. You have the choice to be who you want. Making this a Virtul Reality.

He says people he doesn't know on the internet don';t matter to him as people he knows in real life for many years and that he has bonded with. since he doesnt know the person on the net unless for a long time. but even then rl come first for him. i think this is stupid and shows he is full of hate and didn't have love. he is cold for feeling this.

i've met some good friends on net yet he keeps telling to be "dettached" like the "buddha" because there may deception. He not talking about me or my friends personally but it insults them when says this. It shows he is cold and and unhappy in his life if he doesn't feel as attached to people on net that he know for a few month and more rl people what a stupidd fallacy.

Some people will never understand that people on the internet are just as much people as the tangible ones that you can see are. The fact of the matter is that people are desensitized to things like that until they are actually faced with it themselves. There's no use trying to shed light on him, because he won't get it until he joins a forum or something himself.

It's just like death.

Are you serious?

It's perfectly natural to care about people in your life more than someone on the internet. I love exchanging ideas with people on the forum and even consider a few people friends,but there's a limit that needs to be adhered to.

You're friend is taking the less naive route, by not placing trust in anyone on the internet. Because regardless of the positive experiences you can have here, and on other forums, there's probably two life ruining experiences in some dark corner of the internet.

But you're taking a more trusting route, leading to more positive experiences, but also more risk.

It all just depends on how you go about it, really. Which is why you're both wrong.
