So could the 10 tails be a rabbit?

Pro:
Its a Japanese Legend. We know how Kishi uses them in the Manga.
Konjaku Monogatarishu is a japanese anthology where the rabbit is in direct
connection to a monkey and a fox. Goku and Kurama
Supposedly the rabbit holds a mystic power that of granting immortality.

But if it was a rabbit, it will look in a very cool, anime, japanese kind of look.

I also found this.

Buddhism tells a story about the Lord of Devas and the Ruler of the highest Buddhistic realm with contact to our world called Sakra who sent the Rabbit to the moon.

Sakra is the highest being among Devas with his name being able to mean "Powerful".
While a God he is still mortal thus can die but one day will be replaced by a successor being the next Sakra.

So it is a one-eyed bunny?? I thought it was just a moster...PEROIC

Afterall it does not have to be an animal. The only reason the others were is because it split up
