How is he doing this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wutNY...&feature=inbox

Please see this video and notice how he is doing some sort of cancel from what seems to be Misato's tilt projectile... He is throwing knives very fast performing this trick and then moving super quickly around the battlefield. I can not even understand what is going on. Can someone explain?

He does his tilt, then does this thing called NMC (Ninja Move Cancel) while throwing kunai inbetween.

He's NMC the tilt. Old news

That guy is my hero. I try to play as pro as Msato. My favorite Minato vid right there.
sato

Please explain the process of a NMC and can everyone do it or just Minato?

Re: How is he doing this?

Ever since I've seen the way he plays since Storm 2, that guy's always had me wondering. His movements are so sporadic... throughout all my battles in both Storm 2 and Generations' online, I still have yet to see movements as nearly perfect as his.

Reber is either the best player in the world, or he has some kind of special turbo controller aiding him. I'm leaning towards the latter more though, since I've tried somethings I've seen from his videos, and some movements are just impossible to connect and link. Some are possible, although I can't do them instantly like he does in his battles. Combined with the fact he's doing all of this in the midst of his online battles along with the lag that comes with them...

Well, leaving aside his ambiguous way of playing, it's like mega said. He utilizes NMC. Some other characters like Sakura can also have the same method utilized for them and their tilt.

Re: How is he doing this?

its a ninja move cancel. while you are doing a combo, you flick the left analog stick then press X.

Re: How is he doing this?

Turbo controller, thats tilt and x,impossible to do that that fast anyway, didn't manage to watch the vid long though, players like him annoy the living ;););););) out of me,doing the same thing for 100 seconds .

You know how you ninja move out of a combo to use an ultimate?

Same thing here except with tilting.
Minato's is one of the more useful ones since his kunai cause so much hitstun and you can NMC out and follow up with an U2/U3. Or even keep tilting.

It works with many characters though. The most commonly used ones would be Minato,Sakura,Sasori(I think thats what people do),Danzo...

Some Characters that can't jump out of a tilt: Susano'o Sasuke, Itachi, Mei, Zabuza

Minato is slowly becoming one of my best characters. yesterday I found some pretty good setups with him.

Anyway Reber has always been the best in my eyes..That i've seen play ofc. I wanna fight him so badly...
Like Parak said his movements are perfect, too perfect to be legit. He's either a god or a fake.

Re: How is he doing this?

How can he be fake? I don't see how any kind of turbo controller can help you do moves this complex.

When he is doing a ninja move cancel which way is he moving? He like... doens't even move and does something else right away.

Uchiha Sora 08-26-2012 02:20 PM

Re: How is he doing this?

If you do it fast enough your character doesn't even move from their spot. I can do it too, but only like 3 times in a row max. But knowing when to cancel the ninja move is also part of being good.

You can also jump cancel the tilt.

None of Masatos movements are without purpose

The Deidara dude just SUXS

He subs too much especially after getting hit with a minor attack. This is the problem with most people who use deidara

Uchiha Sora 08-26-2012 09:11 PM

Re: How is he doing this?

Theres a difference PoP. He's TRICKING him into subbing minor attacks.

I have played with Masato plenty of times from Storm 2 right through to Gens. (yet to play with him on Storm 3)

He doesn't use a Turbo Controller or anything like that, he has a video showing his hand movements next to his T.V screen. (One of his first videos)

I played him before Storm 2 (SSF4) and that's the main reason why he plays the way he does. Playing other fighters can make you a better player in this game, because you learn the art of buffing (inputs/commands), manipulation (fake outs/footsies/forcing) and chaining (which Masato does with every character he uses).

Most of the moves he performs (especially tilt loops/cancels) are not effective in competitive gaming. They are easily stoppable and punishable but that is where he is above the rest is he uses a "low tier" tactic against "competitive" players and he performs it so well that he makes that low tier tactic > competitive tactics also known as the "metagame".

This is not all the time tho, he does lose like all of us but he is one hell of a player!

That's Masato for you. If this game had Deities, he'd be one of 'em.
