How severe should the punishment be

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olympi...9842--oly.html

What do you think? I personally believe she should be arrested for making a walk that others worked all their lives to get to. I can't believe someone would stoop so low as this.

i agree. no one else could be able to do that so why should she be able to.

probably a few days will suffice.

how about the commitee in charge of the olympics in London? They allowed this to happen. don't forget to leave that out.

im pretty sure the security was really tight, so I guess u can't really blame the IOC for someone to slip by. but dunno, it's just me. im usually a bit lenient.
but this is still pretty big

Did you guys happen to read she was part of the cast? Meaning she was supposed to be there just not in that spot. I personally do not think this was a malicious act in anyway. Don't get me wrong I can see a problem here, but come on guys, it was more than likely a mistake. Once she was out there she was probably embarrassed and was afraid to get of the walk. No one was hurt but the pride of the India procession and London of course. Image how that woman feels? You guys realize that she could become a target for not only some sort of legal action, but paparazzi, and intensely loyal Olympic fans whom could even threaten her life. I actually feel bad for her. =/ I know the Olympic Athletes worked hard to get there, that used to be a dream of mine as well. But really this was simply a mistake, an embarrassing one. I don't think she should get an punishment, the harassment she will receive or has received will be torture enough.

I'm not too sure. I certainly think she should be punished, but to what degree I don't know. Maybe like 4 years of community service?

I don't see anything of the sort for her to be punished.

She was meant to be part of the cast, just got carried away and ended up in the wrong spot, can you really blame her at the opening ceremony of the olympics. I'm sure her face plastered everywhere and her name being dragged through the mud over something so innocent is enough punishment for her.

People are outraged over someone standing in the wrong spot of a ceremony, pretty sad really, see has caused no harm to anyone what so ever.

She wasn't standing in the wrong spot though, she was actually walking with the athletes of a nation. I'm certain she was told exactly what her job was supposed to be.

We had the Olympics here back in 2002. People were so excited I can see a simple mistake like this happening. Accidents happen, if she had killed someone or hurt someone fine.. But THIS WAS NOT A CRIME! Secondly she was probably to embarrassed to just walk away where she was at. The humiliation will be enough. This nothing to get so worked up over.

Actually it could be considered trespassing, and that is a crime.

To be honest I think she did it intentionally. But even so, I do not see it as something terrible. There are crimes far worse than this and they go unpunished. So, I think she shouldn't be treated as if she was a criminal!!! :D

Just because other crimes going unpunished doesn't mean this one should. That is not a valid excuse.

Yes, but even so, it is hard to call it a crime. The closest to that would be trespassing. And trespassing is not well defined in such situations.

So, we're going to severely punish a person who was supposed to be part of the event for walking in the wrong spot. While to me it looks like she should have realized every one was dressed in different colors, I think it's a bit drastic. If anything give her some community service, she didn't kill anyone or anything severe. She just walked and waved. A slap on the wrist should suffice.
