AMV making, I need help!!!

I'v been trying to make a Naruto amv for several months now, but the files I download wont open in windows movie maker!! Only some would open, but that was only the sound!!

How do you guys do it?

By files, do you mean images, videos, music, or what? WMM is about useless and only supports certain filetypes. You may have to do some conversion.

I mean video clips, I do have a convertion program, do you know what filetypes wmm supports??
