Western gamers will get to indulge in yet another Japanese RPG next year, as Namco Bandai Games recently announced that it will be launching Tales of Xillia in North America nex year for the PS3. Hideo Baba, the producer of this series answered some questions from the official PlayStation blog, revealing in the process some more details about the already successful game.

The much appreciated battle system from the recently launched Tales of Graces f will be scrapped completely with this new title. It will be replaced by something the developer calls as the Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System. The game will be playable with two characters, named Jude and Milla. While the overall storyline remains the same with either of the characters, players have been encouraged to play with both in order to better experience the full story.

“I believe the game was acclaimed because of its maturity as the 15th anniversary title in Japan. As I previously mentioned, we are always challenging ourselves to evolve the series and to develop each title that will surpass fan expectations from the last title. I think that these gameplay evolutions from game to game over the course of the past 15 years have helped the series earn its critical acclaim,” explained Hideo Baba, when asked about the game’s success in Japan.

Although this title will be releasing in North America more than a year after its Japanese launch, it will not comprise any added content. Apart from the entire game, all its DLC packs will also remain the same. That’s because, the developer wishes to provide the same gameplay experience ‘as much as possible’ between all regions.

Tales of Xillia should come out for the PS3 in North America sometime in 2013. Its exact release date is yet unknown.
