I recently found that my computer has malicious malware.

I click on that link up there and it says that that thread has something in there that's distributing malware.

Anyone wanna maybe do something about that?

It'd be nice to know what you were using that detected this malware, and what the malware was called. I suppose it's possible someone posted something weird, though I'd wager this is a false positive.

I think that whoever gets rid of it should have a Mac PC.

Mac PCs are built in a way that makes them literally impervious to almost all viruses.

MacDefender called, it would like a word with you.

But seriously, don't confuse a lack of viruses made for Mac's to mean that the Mac itself is impervious to viruses.

I have a Toshiba laptop, and it hasn't gotten a virus yet, works just fine with a nice smooth layout...saved money rather than buying a Mac....

But to stay on topic here, I clicked the link and it just loads a normal thread page for me with no problems? False positive as Mr. Ashen said

Usually, this can happen when a user's signature contains a picture to a site that has been infected. It happened to me before on another site, so this site isn't at risk: it's due to whatever images are loading.

I'm not getting the error though.

Emachines PC. I still want a laptop. >.>

Dunno. Chrome just said "Oops, something's wrong blah blah we detected malware."

So then I closed the page.

yea i use chrome allot when on the internet, and i think it might just be the browser, because it used to happen to me sometimes. but when ever i am on safari or internet explorer it doesnt do that.

Well, I can't duplicate the problem when I use Chrome, so unless it's on a different page of the thread, I'd still wager it's just a false positive. I won't say the thread in question is virus free, but I'd wager your odds of getting a virus from going to that thread are the same as the rest of your time spent on the internet.

If your paranoid or overly cautious, do a virus scan every time you use the internet. In the meantime, if anyone else gets a similar message, let us know.

Read OP.

If anyone has any experiences that back up Shika Nara's claim, they can make another thread, or send the finer details to an admin.
