Well you have to look at it this way, all the test they took in the academy were no different, maybe with easier questions, but in the end it was not a real battle therefore it does not count as a battle smarts feat.

More feats for Karin is being fast enough to snatch Sasuke out of the Killer Bee fight and heal him without being injured, rather she has senor abilities or not she is still able to think react fast enough in battle to either avoid being harmed, heal people and make a plan for escaping.
