Tobi reacts to things the same way Madara would considering his history, and besides that two people (Jiraiya and Minato Namikaze) both independantly reached the conclusion that Madara was still alive, while Itachi was certain it was Madara and spent more time with Tobi than anyone we know of, besides possibly Sasuke and Zetsu. Saying this is the best Madara theory is a bit premature, in my opinion.

Tobi is Madara, but that doesn't mean Madara isn't dead. The person Kabuto summoned when he faced Tobi can only be Madara, and that means that Madara's soul exists in the Pure World. The only known way this could be is that Madara died, and the most likely time for Madara to have died is in battle against Hashirama.

I'm telling you man, Madara may be an Edo Tensei from Tobirama's final battle or something like that. He's seemingly immortal, looses limbs and get's them back for some unexplained reason, claims to be "a shell of his former self". It could explain everything. I know he doesn't regenerate instantly but remember, we never saw Tobirama's version of Edo Tensei. That may be one of the things that Oro improved about the technique.

... And what does it mean when ppl say Tobi acts so much like Madara... when did u know Madara except in Tobi's flashbacks to understand how he truly acted? If you ask me it's even possible to argue that Tobi's disposition (of patience and long term planning) is something madara may not have had. Though I'm not saying Tobi isn't madara..?

However, his change may have been brought on by what I describe in my theory or may have occured due to an event that happened after Madara left the village and before he attacked it.

You make no sense, Kabuto states the soul has to be in the inpure world in order to be summoned back. If Tobi is Madara then how can his soul be in the inpure world.

You make no sense, Kabuto states the soul has to be in the inpure world in order to be summoned back. If Tobi is Madara then how can his soul be in the inpure world.I already explained it to zerosameri, but if I have to, I'll say it again. Although, first off, Kabuto said the soul must be in the "Pure World" and summoned into the "Impure World". This is how he's put it in every translation of the chapter I've read.

Now, regardless whether or not Tobi is Madara, Madara's soul is in the Pure World most likely because Hashirama killed him at the Final Valley. For Tobi to be Madara and this to still be true, and assuming that a soul is necessary to be alive, either Madara's body already contained two souls before Hashirama killed him, or a soul was inserted into his body after he died. The second case is possible as life transference jutsu and soul transference jutsu have been seen in the course of the series. The first case is somewhat possible as Sasuke himself contained another person inside him for a time and the Jinchuriki all contain the souls of Biju.

Jushina was talking to the Uchiha girl person before she went into delivery. Maybe that baby was Sasuke and his father is Tobi/Madara Uchiha!)(~*!@()~*@!~ Think about it, it might sort of make sense. The person who pretended his father was always said to love Itachi more. Maybe that's because Itachi was his son while he was forced to care for Sasuke and so didn't love him. I don't know, probably not, but just think about it.
