Why Kankuro doesn't wear a normal headband?

We know who Kankuro is. He has some killer puppet techniques to control when he controls his creations. Kankuro's best puppets would be Crow. He has Gaara and Temari for siblings. Traditionally, ninja wear a headband with the emblem of their village to know who they are. Let me say this. Why Kakuro doesn't wear a normal headband like everyone else?

I'm guessing that sense he is a puppetmaster, he wears different headbands. Just a guess though.

Because he's waaaaaay too cool for a regular 'ol headband!

Because he's a puppeteer and needs to hide his identitiy and work behind the scenes, like a REAL ninja!

Before his new outfit, he did have his headband, but seems to have discarded it. :S
