For a while now the night guards of the City’s ruins have been hearing strange screams in this city, as well as strange lights and other unexplained noises throughout the ruin. On top of all this, there have been numerous deaths at night in this place, the bodies found with theirs souls missing, and almost always in the amphitheatre. Needless to say, the spooky ruins, settled under a huge Volcano, makes a great place for one creepy night with the supernatural... or just another Kishin Egg? Either way, Shibusen is sending two students out to investigate.
Some people think the reason people are being killed is because the souls of the dead are angry at modern man, for disturbing their sleep and want their peace, and some just think it’s a set up by locals to try and stop noisy tourists from coming to the ruins, feeling it should only belong to the people who live around the old city. Either way, its Shibusen’s duty to investigate into what ever is happening here, a hopefully bring down whatever is lurking under the shadow Mt Vesuvius.
Your mission it to locate and destroy whatever is terrorizing this ruin, and bring it back to peace.

5 Corrupted Souls

Weapon Raiku and meister Kai of the DWMA pull up in front of the amphitheater on there bikes. “Wow, this place is huge” Raiku muttered. “I know huh” Kai said in reply. “I bet it would look pretty awesome if it wasn’t partially in ruins” Raiku said. “I bet” muttered his meister. The two dismounted there bikes and made there way into entrance way. It was a large room that led to different sections of the amphitheater. It was pretty in tact but sections of the ceiling were on the ground. “They used to have gladiator fights here right?” Raiku asked. “Yeah and also plays and what not” Kai said in reply. They made there way of a heap of ruble in front of one passage and started going down it. “This place is pretty dark” Raiku said. Kai pulled out two flashlights and handed one to Raiku. “Good thing I brought these” he said. Raiku only mumbled in return. They cut the flashlights on and continued down until they saw a light ahead. Cutting off the lights the two jogged into it and they looked around. “Seems like it led to the stands” Kai said. “I didn’t even know the tunnel went up” Raiku said. “Me neither” They looked around and admired the structures. Raiku pulled out some flash cards and hid them to where Kai couldn’t see them. “Did you know that this was the first amphitheater build from stone?” Raiku said proudly. “No, and I didn’t know you paid attention to your history” Kai said. “Yep, and it’s also the oldest surviving Roman amphitheater as well” Raiku said. “How do you know this?” Kai said puzzled. “Its called being smart” Raiku said smartly. Kai grumbled and started to walk across the stands. “Now we just have to find a way into the under chambers and see what we can find” Kai said. They continued to look all around but couldn’t find anything. “Wait don’t we jump down into the arena?” Raiku asked. “That’s where they brought out the gladiators and bring stuff into for the plays”. “Hhhmmmm…..your right” Kai said as they made there way down to the bottom of the stands and jumped into the arena ground below. As soon as there feet touched the ground they felt strange presences and energies. “Whoa” Raiku said as he became alert. “Many people have died on these grounds” Kai said as he knelt and felt the ground. “Im not surprised by the feeling” They then turned and in front of them was a large entrance that led below. It was pitch black inside so they grabbed for there flashlights. But, as they did they heard a noise somewhere in side like metal scraping the ground.

Weapon Raiku and Meister Kai arrive in Italy on their motorcycles. They park at the designated area that the DWMA had sent them too. They talk about the marvelous structures and point out different things, but hate the fact it was mostly in ruins. They walk through the amphitheatre and investigate. After reviewing history, they move through the ruble and go through a tunnel. Kai whips out two flashlights for them and continue their way, they see a light and turn off the flash lights and jog the rest of the way into the stands of the amphitheatre. Raiku begins to make many remarks on the history of the ruins that Kai is impressed. Kai starts his way to investigate to the chambers, but Raiku tells him to keep tradition and jump down to the floor. As they do, a presence, hits them and they aren’t surprised, then they hear the sound of metal scraping gainst the ground.

Raiku and Kai stood and stared down the almost endless hallway of darkness that they felt the presence come from. the sunlight peered through the crack in the ceiling and slowly, they see a huge 7 foot gladiator, with a silver mask, wearing shoulder pads and leg guards, but no chest plate. Dragging a large two handed silver axe that looked like it weighed a ton. "ooo....we got us a big boy Kai XD" "come on Raiku, this is serious" but Kai couldn’t resist letting out a chuckle. The gladiator watched, as if deaf, and swung his axe onto his shoulders. "I think it’s time you-" "i got it" Raiku said as he changed into a black and red scythe, Kai caught him and twirled him a few times into his stance. The gladiator looked at them and stood boldly. Kai whispered quietly “I think we gotta go to him.” But as soon as Kai said it. The gladiator charged, sprinting with his shoulder out. Kais eyes widened and he dived and rolled out of the way. Letting the gladiator run into the wall. Debris and ruble flew everywhere. Kai recovered and looked around. He saw a shine in the corner of his eye and looked up. To see the gladiators feet 12 feet above him. “this guy can sprint 60 mph and jump freakin 18 feet up!?” “Quit worrying and do something!” Kai Threw a high block towards the attack and blocked the massive blow, but was sent in a 4 feet crater. The gladiator picked him up by his Jacket collar and held him close to his face.

Kai looked away in disgust. “Damn! Brush your teeth!” The gladiator looked at a wall behind Kai and threw Kai in a baseball form. Kai flew through the air and did some flips recovering fast. He landed against the wall at an angle and held his posture before launching at the gladiator. Kai slammed Raikus handle against his chest before swinging sideways cutting him in half. Then he rolled behind him and stood up to turn around, as the two halves exploded into a corrupted soul. Raiku reached out and grabbed it, before putting it to rest in his stomach. Then another large presence hit them and what sounded like wood stretching echoed against the walls lightly.

Raiku and Kai peered into the never ending darkness as a large and tall armored gladiator armed with a large two handed battle axe. After passing a few words Raiku transformed into his scythe form as the gladiator charged them. He moves really fast for his size which surprised the two, throwing them off guard. Kai moved quickly enough to dodge just in time and it ran into a wall, partially breaking it. As they looked up the gladiator was in the air and coming down at them. Kai managed to block but a 4ft crater formed beneath him from the impact. The gladiator picked Kai up and threw him at a wall but he did a recovery flip and caught himself. Kai then launched himself at it and hit him in the chest then sliced him in half, leaving his corrupt soul behind. Raiku ate he soul as they heard another noise.

“I know that noise” Raiku muttered. “Bows” “How do you know that?” Kai asked. “I used to have a friend who loved bows” “Seems like more keshin eggs are up ahead then” Kai said. Kai gripped the scythe with one hand and with the other he turned on his flashlight and pressed on. They moved on for about 5 minutes before they heard a noise like something was flying by. “Duck!” Raiku yelled as he returned to human form and pushed Kai down as an arrow flew into Raiku’s arm. He groaned but jumped forward as his arm turned into a scythe. He slashed downwards and bingo, he took down the shooter. He was about to eat his soul but another arrow whizzed by him. Raiku felt an arm on his shoulder and knew it was his bro so he turned into scythe form and Kai jumped forward barely dodging another arrow but using his hearing he pin pointed the archer and swung forward hitting his mark. After eating the souls Raiku turned his flashlight on to so he could check out his wound. It wasn’t to deep but it was bleeding badly. Kai pulled a roll of bandage out and wrapped his arm up. “Thanks” Raiku said. “No, thank you” Kai said and they smiled at each other and shook hands. They walked forward to continue there search as they came into a large room in which they sensed a keshin soul.

After Raiku and Kai took down the Gladiator. They sensed another keshin egg. They heard the strum of a bow and a shuffle. Kai gripped Raiku in one hand and a flashlight in the other. After 5 minutes an arrow came whizzing towards Kai. Raiku changed back to human form and shoved Kai to the floor but getting shot in the arm in the process. Raiku, turned to the strum of the bow and partial transformed to slice one of the twin shooters into his corrupted soul. But before he could eat it, an arrow flew next to him and alerted him there was another shooter. Kai put his hand on Raikus shoulder and he transformed into sythe form. After a couple more arrows flying by. Kai managed to pinpoint the other egg and eliminate it. Kai then medically helped Raiku with his wounds and they continued their investigation, into a large room, to which they sensed another keshin egg.

"Do you feel it to?" asked Raiku. "Who couldn’t? This ones...strange though."

Taking careful steps Kai turned off the flashlight and sliped it in his back pocket. When he was almost halfway across the room. the sound off rushing water came from behind him. He turned around slowly and saw a mound being constantly filled with black water untill it formed into the shape of a body. The black water unwraveled off the figure and their stood a Jet black keshin egg, with a stiched mouth and eyes. It weilded a bow staff that seemed to be made of the same liquid as him. "Hey Raiku, i didnt know your mom was in town XD" "O HAHA! Good one Kai! Raiku said smiling and shaking his head.

The kishin egg twisted its neck to where its head was upside down. Kai turned his head to the left, touching his left ear to his left shoulder. "What the fu-" The keshin egg quickly struck at Kai with the end of his staff. Kai blocked and threw a barage of attacks before jumping back into a stance. The Keshin egg then slammed its staff on the ground and the staff dripped down into a small river splitting behind Kai and Raiku. It came together and formed another body like figure such as the keshin soul. They charged at Kai from both sides and unleashed an enormous amount of punches and kicks onto Kai, till one of them dispersed and trickled through kais legs and into the keshin eggs leg, up through his body, into its fist, creating a huge fist. It swung and punched Kai hard in the chest, sending him flying 7 feet in the air into the wall across the room. Kai couched up blood and held his chest and laughed. He got up, and the keshin egg noticed his weapon wasnt in his hand. But before he could do anything, Raiku partial transformed his left arm into a black katana blade and impaled the back of the Keshins head. It then exploded into the corrupted soul and Raiku ate it and swallowed it with ease, rubbing his stomach in satisfaction. "I’m gonna be pretty big if i gotta eat 99 souls ^^"
Kai chuckled, "you cant forget the witch soul either."

As Raiku and Kai entered the large room they felt a strange presence. “You feel that” Raiku muttered. “Definitely, this one is going to be a challenge” Kai muttered in reply. A large puddle of black water appeared and started to form a weird keshin egg with a stitched up face. “Wow” Raiku said. Kai made some remark about Raiku’s mom but he ignored it. The keshin egg came at Kai and tried to hit him with his staff but he blocked with Raiku and dodged a barrage of attacks from him as it jumped back and slammed his staff into the ground. As he did a small river split behind Raiku and Kai and two more creatures came out. They charged at Kai but he took one down and the other formed into the original. It fused with his hand and made a giant fist and he punched Kai knocking him into a wall. Suddenly Raiku came out from behind the keshin egg and stabbed into his head using his partial transformation. “Nice” Kai said. “Alright next mission, we need to try our best not to get hurt” Raiku said chuckling. “Your right but its always me who gets hit into something” Kai said laughing.

They rested for a few minutes and continued forward. After what seemed like forever they came into another room but it was smaller than before and there were no exits except the one Raiku and Kai entered through. The two sensed something and got ready. Up ahead of them moved and Raiku transformed into his chained sickle form. Kai got into a defensive stance and a tall fully armored gladiator carrying a shield and scimitar came out of the darkness. “You two have made it far, we could of used gladiators like you” it said. “But to bad im about to have to kill you” it said as he gripped his sword harder and got ready to advance. “We’ll see about that” Kai said. The keshin chuckled to himself, “im so sick of people entering these grounds” he said. “This is my land” “I was the best of the best here, you will lose to the king of gladiators!” and with that he charged at them and brought his scimitar down but Kai blocked it with the sickle part but the keshin egg followed with a side slash from the left and then bashed at them with his shield. Kai blocked the slash but the shield bash took him off guard and knocked him a few feet and out the room. “I have an idea” Kai said. “Go to katana form” “Alright” Raiku muttered as he transformed into a black katana. Kai went to the side of the entrance and backed up a few inches so when the gladiator came out the exit Kai could stab him from the side. They waited a few seconds when the wall beside them a few feet back exploded and the gladiator came out and charged.

After Kai and Raiku killed the black water gladiator. They rested a few minutes and continued their mission. "The DWMA said that there was five corrupted souls here. So I’m guessing this is the last room" Kai said with a gulp. Raiku changed into a chained sickle and went into kai's hands. He got to the end of the hallway and was surprised to see a tall gladiator with a shield and scimitar come out of the darkness. He made remarks about what great fighters they could have been for him and his crew. and how he was the best and that he was going to kill them. But kai talked back. He said he was the best, and charged Kai. He threw an attack to the top of Kais head, but Kai blocked it using his loyal weapon Raiku. The gladiator then threw another attack to his side and Kai blocked again, but was surprised by the shield being rammed into him. He flew straight back into the dark hallway and stood up. Raikus reflection showed up in the blade. "I thought we were gonna try our best not to get hurt -.-"
Kai chuckled, "My bad" he said rubbing his head. "Anyway i have a plan" Raiku changed into Katana form and Kai ran to the end of the hall in a plan to stab the gladiator in its side. But suddenly, he broke throw the wall, foiling their plan.

"He's smart." Kai said grinning. The gladiator stopped from its charged and turned to face Kai and Raiku. He brushed the debris and rubble of his shoulders. And put his shield in the front. Raiku changed from black katana form to a black and red scythe in Kai's hand. The gladiator and Kai both charged each other at the same time, and collided scythe and shield. Kai swung in a horizontal way in an attempt to destroy his shield. He failed but managed to knock it out of his hand. The Gladiator swung at Kai's legs, but Kai jumped over the sweep."Time to finish this!" Kai shouted. He swung down and hit the gladiator on the top of the head.....but with the wrong side of the scythe. Only making a clank sound to its helmet. Raiku shook his head and Kai stood with his eyes wide. "DAMN IT!" kai yelled.

The gladiator spun and back kicked at Kai. Kai blocked it with his forearm and used the force to slide a couple feet back. Raiku changed into chained sickle and Kai spun the spear tip part around and threw it in a hooking motion to get the chain around the gladiator. When it went around he caught the spear tip and pulled on both ends sending the gladiator forward towards him. Kai stepped forward. "step one" He swung his foot back and kneed the gladiator with enough force to send him a few feet up. Kai then pulled on the chains again bringing him back. "step two" Kai crossed his arms to fold it. As the gladiator came down. He stepped behind him and tugged to hold the gladiators hands to his chest making them immovable. Kai swung the sickle part around and the gladiator caught it to keep it from stabbing him. "Step four" Kai kicked the back of his knee to make him kneel on both legs. He then placed his foot on the back of his shoulder. And slowly pulled then spear tipped end to wear it pulled the sickle closer and closer to the gladiator’s chest. "I guess this is it for me." the gladiator said with a roaring laughter. “you’re the champions here now." Kai smiled to his sportsmanship. and closed his eyes. "Final step…death" The gladiator let out another chuckle, and Kai tightened his grip. "Goodnight." Kai pulled the end fast and hard, sending the sickle into the gladiator’s chest and exploding into a corrupted soul. Raiku changed back and grabbed the soul. "He must have been great back then."
"hmp, i bet XD" Raiku raised it above his mouth and let it slide down his throat. "So Raiku! Where do you wanna eat? Were in Italy man! XD" "I don't know bro." Raiku chuckled. "A place that'll most likely give us heartburn."
