You can't manipulate your own opponent's potential energies. You can only control your own, via exhaling(creating kinetic energy) or inhaling(taking more in, compressing).

Then there also is a thing as TOO MUCH kinetic energy.

Deforestation doesn't affect the earth itself in such a dramatic manner that someone who is fused with it would die.
Ozone layer does nothing to someone who's molecular structure is changed to be similar to the earths. Essentially, I don't see how becoming one with a barren wasteland is harmful to me.
