Tough match-up for them both. All Tsunade needs is one good punch to Asuma, but Asuma showed speed feats to match Hidan and to cut Kisame.

He can wear her out dodging her sluggish blows, and since his weapons and wind style give him a range advantage, he can take her in straight taijutsu.

He's also got fire style for some ranged attacks, and if we wanna get real crazy, throw in the animes buddhist palm =)

But his knives arent going to cause her any irreparable damage. Compared with Asuma, Tsunade has better durability and much better Taijutsu, chakra control etc.

She can screw entire nerve system with a single blow. Asuma wont be able to figure out/fight against a tech like that.

Tsunade should win this.

tsunade wins!

You need to give reasoning.

Erm, anyway,

Asuma kept up with Hidan, so keeping up with Tsunade is no trouble. Tsunade can easily tank any of his basic kicks or punches. His trench knives are definitly her problem. Though Tsunade has shown some degree of speed at close range. Like whenever Kabuto hit her in the chest with chakra scalpel, she fell to the ground, but got back up and hit him quickly. Alright feat I guess. Considering Kabuto only closed his eyes for a split second. She may able to avoid a few of his blows. But not all of them. Seeing as how he can extend the length of his blades with chakra. He might catch her at first, she won't have knowledge on them. She could learn of their use as the match progresses. Thing is though even when in great pain she can fight on. Being able to throw a blow to Kabutos neck after being impaled in the chest, then throwing a punch at Orochimaru after being stabbed three more times in the chest. Asuma would have to throw a lot of attacks to kill her. Especially since she has regen as well.

Now that I think about it, she could also stomp her foot a close range causing a crater to be formed, to knock him off his feet, or crush him with rubble.

Ash Breath isn't really a factor. If he tries it at close range he's sure to die. Handseals won't go in his favour. At mid range it might work, but Tsunade isn't going to stand there while Asuma shoots ash at her. Should it hit, she can shunshin herself out of the cloud, while he prepares a lighter to be thrown in order to ignite the ash. He also has to make sure he doesn't hit himself, as the blast has quite a large radius.

Not sure tbh, it'd be close. I just think Tsunade can tank or evade most of his attacks. Those that do land can be healed back from. And her foot stomps at close range are probably just too much for Asuma to handle. Not to say she certainly wins though, Asuma has better speed than her. Which hinders her greatly.

Asuma slices her head off using the ash cloud thingy as a cover.

I am positive Asuma would be fast enough to decapitate Tsunade. Makin Asuma the winner.

At first, I was thinking Asuma easily. But I didn't think about her supreme tanking ability. There's good logic in thinking that she could outlast Asuma. I don't think there's enough of a difference in speed to say that Asuma would straight up decap Tsunade.

Gonna give it to Tsunade on this one, unfortunately. Just can't deny that the woman can take a punch.

Iirc the OP says they both have knowledge. This means tsu knows about the blades.

Either way, Ash cloud is asuma's only real chance.
I'm doubting the ability of asuma's speed. By the look of it, he didn't keep up with hidan so much as avoid most of his attacks. As far as decapitation goes, he has to be close. If Tsunade can land even one hit its all over. Mix the brain, disable the arms, one punch OHKO.

If he can somehow avoid the hit, once again its all on the ash cloud. Tsu can heal off most attacks though...

Even ash cloud would probably be met with a shockwave to blow it away and maybe even back at asuma. He has to get in close to do anything, and getting in close is the big issue about it.

Idk, if Tsunade keeps her wits about her then she wins hands down.
