1. The Thing would never touch Luffy. He is too fast.

2. The Thing and Luffy strength is not that far apart. Unless you can name a feat that stomps Luffy. Even then strength doesnt win a fight.

3. The fight lasted long as it did thanks to pnj Hulk would have won way sooner if he used his full power from the start.

bonus fact: Physical blows like regular punches don't work on Luffy. He would be tanking Ben blows all day. Also other strength users on a regular basis smack Ben around mainly robots though.

Luffy strength is every bit as equal to the thing or if not stronger. Luffy is way faster than the Thing to the point the Thing will never touch Luffy. I wanted to post a comment saying that the Sword of Kusanagi isn't a regular sword because it can stretch long distances, and that amount of force can create more damage to the body.
