Gaara after extraction

Why does everyone keep acting like Gaara is weak since the extraction? I figure that no Shikaku means:



1. No automatic sand defense (sand acts on its own)

2. No possession jutsu's (which he wouldn't use now anyway)


That's It! He still has all of his other jutsu since they rely on his ability to manipulate the sand (which he can still do). And his defense is still pretty superior (sand armor and shield). Also, he can actually get some sleep now. That's got to make a significant difference. I know some ppl say that he doesn't have the monster chakra supply now, but have we ever even seen Gaara use Shukaku's chakra (outside of the possessions)? He should have huge chakra on his own. I think all the jinchurikis do. Does the manga even credit Gaara's chakra to Shikaku anywhere?

I think he's still as stronger. As a matter of fact, I think he's gotten even stronger since we last saw him because it would be pointless if he didn't get stronger since he's a kage. It was proven too, when he blocked Sasuke's Amaterasu with his Sand.

yup id say hes still just as strong as ever. i just wanna see him show up at the turtle island to pay deidara a little visit. and kick his butt as payback.

He's lost a good portion of his strength. Since being able to transform into a Bijuu pretty much rapes everything. And without his auto sand defence, blocking attacks from people like Gai, Raikage or Sasuke gets a lot harder. He's not weak though. Not at all. Being able to create colossal sized sand waves to crush and destroy pretty much anything is more than just a decent feat.

Gara is and always was quite formidible but also more cautious, he's getting old!

the transformation (possession) jutsus are non-factors. He wouldn't use them anymore anyway. Auto sand defense is a significant loss but he can still block attacks with his sand. He just has to do it consciously. But Auto sand is his only real loss and with that loss he also gains something.....sleep. I think the difference would atleast even out. And you know he has probably gained new power since the extraction. He's Gaara, he's probably been pushing himself very hard the whole time.

Gaara will have an epic new Sand Based jutsu that isnt crushing someone and related to death...

Maybe Desert Daisy Patch? Of cute?

Or we can go back to the roots and he can use Desert Graveyard, Sandstorm?

Or he could have an entirely different beast ultra moo moo WthbbQ Desert Behemoth Summon

Gaara's probably stronger, but his areas of skill is still really limited. We haven't seen him use any real or good converntional tai, nin, or genjustu.

Agreed. he hasn't shown really any tai or genjutsu, but then again neither did Deidora. He hasn't needed it so far bc of his superior ninjutsu. It's long and short range.

I feel like gaara's auto sand defense is a huge loss, but im sure he is capable of keeping a flow of sand around him anyway, essentially making it automatic since it has to be second nature to him by now.

i can understand why he would lose a great portion of his strength since he used shukaku's arms alot in his jutsus, but he really didnt transform into it anyways. i dont believe gaara had full control of it as only yugito nii and KB were said to fully control their tailed beasts(and now naruto).

truthfully, i think the only thing gaara lost from shukaku is fast sand.

Gaara is likely stronger without the tailed beast.

The uncontrollable urge to kill quickly left no space to develop a strategy against opponents.

It's not like Gaara needs the extra Jutsu. His personal Jutsu was equal if not stronger than what the beast provided, which was countered by chunin level Sasuke.

As we've seen later in the series, Gaara developed much faster with the beast out of the way.

The auto sand defense was too slow to guard Gaara anyway. He mine as well just control it himself.

I agree with Blah, I think Gaara's fights will probably be a lot more 'strategic' now since he hasn't got to worry about the Shukaku taking over...not to mention the downtime!

I don't think that it's Gaara's weakness that he can't perform genjutsu...his strong ninjutsu makes up for that...(and like Deidara, as long as he can defend himself against that...).

About the manga giving him credit (after loosing the Shukaku), I think his confrontation with Sasuke was pretty cool and he kinda saved Raikage from Amaterasu. Later when the whole place collapses he ends up shielding those around him.

We are probably heading towards a proper Gaara battle, so maybe he'll surprise us with some new jutsu..`;)

He is the only known Jinchuuriki to ever survive a Bijuu extraction. He's not going to be weak.

In the end, he's still the son of the Kazekage, still has 15 years of Jinchuuriki experience and sand bonding, and now he won't get headaches or possessions that in all actuality, do nothing but make him weaker. He now has 100% control of his sand, something he used to share with Shukaku.
