Once you play online you will think the gameplay is so exciting.

thats cuz the story mode is unfortunately boring, well IMO it is :)
But when fights start its worth it, again IMO.

Yeah... well that part is boring. You will have to do 2 side missions before really starting the story. One is for the curse dolls and the other is to show you the stores in the hidden leaf village.

The fights in Ultimate Adventure are suppose to get harder the further into the story you get.

I would suggest to not do that. I did that when I got first got the game and it didn't turn out well, my record was 4 wins and 16 losses. It took me for ever to recover from that terrible start (my recorrd now is 98 and 71), which is good. So I would take my time and unlock most of the character before starting online.

I'm saying you should just not play ranked matches, if your only looking for fun and a challenge than you should do players matches since those don't mean anything and don't effect you rank or record.

Keep playing the story Shikamaru. The boss battles farther down the line are totally worth all the missions in between!

I rushed threw the story a little to get to the Jiraiya vs Pain boss battle.
It was still worth it because fighting against 3 paths of pain was so much fun.

That fight was my favorite boss in the game! The ending is so Epic!

You should maybe practice and beat the story...
But still, our second match had me on my toes.
Hope to fight you again!
Also, once you get to the Kakuzu Boss, the game will get harder.

Not my fault. I hadn't even played for ten minutes. I only got past the prologue. XD

Im just going to give you the heads up that it will take the rest of today and the majority of tomorrow to beat the "main" story mode.... and once this part of the story is beat you'll still have four other characters locked from your gaming experience.
