Mangas I'd recommend are Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Yu Yu Hakusho, One Piece, and Dragon Ball.

Heck maybe even Katekyo Hitman Reborn, just don't expect much after the Future Arc.

Despite being aimed toward kids, Dragon Ball is still a good manga. Compared to a lot of the American cartoons we have today, it is not nearly as painfully kiddy as you are implying.

I find the plot way to simple and childish imo, heroes gaining superpower, saving the world etc. No complicated plot like a lot of Seinen and even One Piece and Naruto.

It's mostly the action that catches the readers' attention.
