I don't know who else plays this, but I used to love these games.
I was bored this weekend so I figured I should find some games to play. I picked some out and then saw Mega Man Battle Network 3 White. Due to my recent Mega Man obsession, I figured it wouldn't hurt to get back into the BN hype that I used to have as a kid.
Playing through it, I remembered exactly why I loved it so much. The story isn't exactly great, but the gameplay is fun and overall it's pretty enjoyable and there are a lot of possibilities with the gameplay style.
I have Battle Network 3-6, 3 was great, 4 was okay but not that good, 5 was decent, and 6 was pretty good but not as much as 3.
Anybody else play these games?

I only have 3 Blue, but I love it. The only things that annoy me are that you can only unlock certain things after trading with another person who has White/Blue-exclusive chips, and Bubbleman.exe. I have to hack the game for all Megachips just so I can fight the Alpha Navis.

This series was awesome, and was my most played series of games back when I still used my GBA.
BN 1 was alright, but it was nigh impossible to memorize the structure of the internet when everything looked the same, and then for the Final Boss fight, it was generally easy to win as long as you had collected all the Buster Power ups. In short it seemed unnecessarily complicated in exploration, and the battles were easy. But it was still an alright game.
BN 2 was very good in contrast to 1. You can see definite improvements in all areas, especially with the internet designs.
BN 3 was justawesome, and the first game I played out of the series after not having played a Megaman game in years. It made plenty of improvements in comparison to the earlier games, though I can't really explain why BN 3 was the best out of the series.
BN 4 was when they introduced better graphics into the out of battle environment. But that improvement didn't help me ignore the feeling of repetitiveness and the story sucked.
BN 5 was my second favorite out of the series, namely because it ventured off into letting you fight as other navi's. In comparison to BN 4 the story was actually somewhat decent for a BN game. The one thing I really disliked though was that they made extra stuff for use with an E-Reader/cheat device. That always irks me when game companies sell extra stuff separately. >_>
BN 6, although it was still good overall and definitely competitive with the boss fights even with the Beastout(I think that's what it was called), it felt like a step back in comparison to BN 5. Namely because the story was a letdown for the final game of the series. It could've been so much better than it was.

I have both Blue and White for some reason.
BubbleMan was just dreadful, I took like five tries to beat him yesterday when I played but I beat all the others on my first try.

I dunno how I got 3, but after that I bought the ones after. I just wish the others were as good as 3 was.

I never got 1, is it worth getting?
I heard 2 was the best one, I can probably just borrow my friend's since he has it and never really plays it anymore.
3 was great indeed, playing through it again I remember why i loved it so much.
Honestly I thought the new graphics were worse, it made the game look a bit too unusual after 3 in my opinion, but it was okay. As a kid I thought it was okay, but looking back the story was pathetic and I didn't love nearly as much of the music in 4 as I did in the others.
5 was a pretty good game, but I just had one huge issue with it. The liberation missions really bothered me. Something about them just annoyed me, and if they weren't so tedious I would have loved the game so much more. The story was pretty good though and the music got better, but after trying to beat CloudMan a dozen times hoping to make some progress I got pretty annoyed.
I liked 6 more than 5, but that's probably just because of my hatred for liberation missions, that might have been it. I liked 6's music more too though, although 6 wasn't as epic as 3.
From what I've played, I'd say 3>6>5>4, supposedly 2>=3 from what I heard and 1>4 or something.
This is one of my favorite series ever.
The furthest I ever got on 1 was Elecman.I really don't remember the story.
I really liked 2,though I don't remember much about it.
3 was my favorite and it took me forever to beat Alpha. It took just as long beating Bass, who's my favorite charater.
I thought 4 was alright mainly because of the whole using other navis' abilities thing, but the dark chips were a pain.
I haven't played 5 and 6 yet.
Has anyone played that one for GC or the tournament or whatever one?

BubbleMan was just dreadful, I took like five tries to beat him yesterday when I played but I beat all the others on my first try.
I remember trying to beat his V2 with HeatGuts style right after beating him the first time. It never really worked out. :(
I dunno how I got 3, but after that I bought the ones after. I just wish the others were as good as 3 was.
I never got 1, is it worth getting?
Not really... <_< If you're curious, try and see if you can get it loaned to you by anyone; Or if you're really curious and no one owns the game, rom's and emulators are probably your best bet, but it's not worth going out of your way to buy it. Story wise it's better than 4, I will say that.
I heard 2 was the best one, I can probably just borrow my friend's since he has it and never really plays it anymore.
2 Was indeed good but imo 3 still beats it. If only for the fact that 3 has the customizer and more style changes than 2 has.

The new graphics made everything seem brighter. I think they upped the color ratio or something. That said, things seemed more 2-D than 3-D with the new graphics, so it's probably just a matter of taste. But yes, we agree on the story, and the music.

I liked the challenge of the liberation missions honestly. I just had to remember to save often before doing something that could ruin my attempt or make it several times easier.

Meh, 5 and 6 are both still pretty good and regardless of our personal preferences they're probably about the same. I would rate the music to be about the same in both 5 and 6, they're both pretty good, but I don't necessarily prefer one over the other.
From what I've played, I'd say 3>6>5>4, supposedly 2>=3 from what I heard and 1>4 or something.
2 being greater than 3 seems to over-glorify BN 2 just a bit much, though 1>4 could be entirely possible. 4 was really poor. >.>Orange

I have the GC game Network Transmission(I think that's what it was called), but I never really played it much.
I've also played Battle Chip Challenge which is really just a set 'em up and watch yourself win or lose. The lack of interactivity doesn't place it as high on my list of favorite games.

What's worse is that his...V3? form you can't fight unless you're in red health, which just makes the battle even harder because he was already difficult to beat, and Electric styles and chips are useless against him (Except for the Shadow Style, which was my fav). I don't know if I had more trouble with him or Bass GS, to be honest.
My favorite boss/Navi was probably Plantman.exe or Drillman.exe. The latter is sort of hard too, but the feeling of not knowing which hole he was gonna come out of made it fun to guess, if not also annoying.

When I was a kid I thought Alpha was really hard, he still is kinda hard actually but I'm sure if I make a good folder it shouldn't be too bad. Bass is easy for me imo.
DoubleSoul was interesting, although I preferred the style changes since you didn't lose them after a few turns.
I played Network Transmission ages ago but I wasn't impressed.
Battle Chip Challenge was a decent strategy game, although if you're used to the action packed battles of most BN games then you might not enjoy BCC since you can't really do anything in it.
I remember trying to beat his V2 with HeatGuts style right after beating him the first time. It never really worked out. :(

I remember I used to get HeatGuts too and then BubbleMan was horrible. I'm glad this time around I got WoodGuts instead.
I suppose I'll see if I can try it out sometime.
I'll have to see how good 2 is, I heard it was best in the series but I still have yet to try it out. From what I heard though it's a really good game.
I thought the graphics were a bit cheesy, although that's just a matter of personal preference.
Liberation missions were okay at first but after the deal with CloudMan I just got pissed off. I pretty much sat there for an hour trying to kill the guy with no success, really annoyed me.
If the liberation missions weren't so tedious I'd probably place 5 and 6 about the same, but those decreased my opinion on 5.
As far as I remember,2 is the only one with any kind of profanity

Right now I just beat PlantMan, so far the only boss that was really hard for me was BubbleMan.

I've played all the Megaman Battle Network games, plus the GC one and Battlechip Challenge for the GBA. My 3 favorites by far Battle Network 2, Battle Network 3, and Battle Network 6. Transmission for the GC is okay, it does give you that old school Megaman feel with the 2-D. Battlechip Challenge is goof if your lazy and just want a time waster. lol. `:)

Sometime I'm probably going to ask my friend to borrow 2 since I wanna try it out.
Right now on BN3 I'm trying to put out the fires that FlameMan (he is called FlamMan in the game but that's illogical) started throughout the Net. Getting loads of water chips is a tedious process. =/
Which is why you collect before hand.

Right now I'm at the Undernet ranking part, I'm #8 right now.

Mega Man is trying to obtain the program called GigaFreeze to stop Alpha. In order to do that, he has to find a Navi called S, or Serenade, in order to get the program. To get to S, he has to defeat a lot of Undernet Navis in a ranking challenge.
I remember someone named S,but that's it............

I finally managed to beat the main story of Battle Network 3.
Hard stuff, it took me so many tries to beat Alpha, but I did it.
I must say I was pissed when I got Alpha to 100 HP one time and then died though. That was pure evil.

I beat Alpha a lot sooner than I thought I would though.
I beat him in like five tries or so, I expected like 20, but I had good luck today.
On another note, I'm glad to finally have a ProtoMan chip.

So as Miles and I have been talking about (Epic discussion by the way http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff286/nfforums/NF%20smilies/kruemelmonsteryn0.gif), I finally got BN3 again after playing it many years ago.
Just started like 20 minutes ago but it's pretty fun so far, it's quite nostalgic.

My first Mega Man game was BN3 but I have owned all the BN games in the past.
In order my favorites are:
BN3: Great story, fairly leveled boss battles, nice customization, so many great features, cool P.A.s, my favorite character Shun is in it, and awesome afterstory/mission. I especially love how you can raise viruses. Side missions and quests are the best in the series.
BN5: The best story in the series, the ability to play as other guys are neat, playable Bass and Bass cross, awesome afterstory/mission, and awesome forms and the Liberation missions make it even cooler.
BN2: Like the story, has the best music in the series, my favorite character Shun is in it, cool story, mild language and mature story, neat afterstory/mission, and the feel was great.
BN6: Not so great story for the series finale, nice character development though, added extra elemental advantage mechanics, playable as other navis is cool as well as cool trials. Missions were awesome and other side quests and the transformations are nice but the afterstory/mission isnt that long or interesting.
BN1: Its bound to have its problems for the first game in the series but its pretty good. The only thing I like about it is the ending to the game and the story.
BN4: Godawful excuse of an BN game. Crappy music, lame ass story, and dumb ending and it totally ignored the old BN game elements and wasnt the same as the old BN games. The only thing I like about this are the trials, minigames, or tasks you do beofre a match in a tournament. I also like how you can repeat the story without losing everything.
