They are a terrifying thrill, but the latest ones like RE4 and RE5? I can admit I love them, but don't you think it's becoming more and more less zombie like? I prefer the classic resident evil game where you can explore the mansion, mines and laboratories. exploration for the win! But you know, sometimes it gets to be a pain in the ass to go back and forth between locations. The only reason why I'm into this franchise is because you sometimes don't know what to expect, if not, most of the time or not at all. Secondly, managing your ammo, learning to conserve your ammunition is the number one key to survival, there's no fun in infinite ammunition. Last but not least: Blowing off zombie heads.
Now, RE4 and RE5 are also one of my favorites, but it is starting to lose some of it's zombiness. Moar zombies! Less parasites! RE4 and RE5 were great, but those had more storyline to it (I'm not saying it was 10 out of 10) and was organized into chapters. The original resident evil games was a bit slack (Or lacking) on the storyline, but it had tons of exploration. I don't know what to say about plot though. So which generation of resident evil do you prefer and why?

My favorites are the first Resident Evil, RE2, and RE4. The first one may be old, but it still has that creepiness to it. I love it! Leon, Claire, and Wesker are by far my favorite characters, and I've beaten RE4 countless times. 8D

Most def one of my fav series ever created. I played the second one first when I was 8 and it horrified me with its realistic 64 bit cube graphics.

Only played 4, it's a great game. I'm at the island right now.

I heard the previous games are a lot scarier though.

They are, the only truly scary parts in RE4 was Verdugo and U-3. Verdugo is the one that has that barbed-like tail and glowing eyes, he phases in and out through the ceilings and floors in that sewer area under Ramone Salazar's throne room. I'm not sure if you've made it to the U-3 yet. U-3 is arguably one of the hardest resident evil bosses out there. Its true, the older resident evil games were actually more enjoyable and scarier than 4 and 5. Your missing out on the actual zombie blasting. RE4 is great, its fun how you can get the unlockables such as 4 alternate suits, 2 each for Leon and Ashley, the Infinite launcher, the Chicago Typewriter and the P.R.L.415. Is it the Wii edition? I am going to make assumptions here and say a yes. The "zombies" in 4 and 5 are not actually zombies. They are just possessed by a parasite that dwells within they're bodies. Sort of barbaric how they shove the Las Plaga down that person's throat in RE5, but they claim it to be the better alternative and faster too. The zombies in resident evil 1-3 are actual zombies. This post is actually part opinion, part fact.

Are you talking about Umbrella chronicles, Darkness chronicles and RE4 Wii edition?
Let me see...

RE Umbrella Chronicles...It's trailers were all hyperbole, but doesn't every game trailer try to do that? Of course, Its a marketing technique, the games "House of the Dead 1-3" are pure classics, but Umbrella Chronicles is actually not a good game as it was first viewed to be "sweet" in the trailers. Its crap. The railshooter mechanic was a no-no. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun, but not "I recommend this game for you" kinda fun.

Umbrella chronicle edit: Okay, maybe I was wrong and its actually an okay railshooter game with okay aspects. I still wouldn't say "I recommend you this game" or place the game in the ranks "I recommend you this game" and "This game will blow your socks off". But you know, that's just my opinion based review. Perhaps yours varies from my own?

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles, I have heard of it, but I would like to hear more opinions and reviews of this game before I even think about buying it.

RE4 Wii edition, many unlockables with the benefit of playthroughs. The easter eggs are fun. :)

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is a upgraded version of Umbrella Chronicles but this one covers Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica, and a Special 3rd story staring Leon and Krauzer from RE4. Its controls are smooth and the LvLs to me are long. 6 or 7 different weapons that can be upgraded in many different area with in game money. Just like Umbralla Chronicles it has Bones Content to find and unlock. 3 Different Games Modes. Will Scare you in some area. I love it. `:)

I actually never played any RE games for the playstation except for Outbreak where I got dragged out of the window by a zombie at the beginning. I want to know more about this game, do you mean smoother controls? Name some of the bonus content and some of the modes please. ^^
Also, I don't want to know all the good stuff, what are the bad aspects/reviews/flaws (What they should have improved on) about this game? Surely there must be something bad about this game. I would find it hard to believe if there were none and I would find myself rushing out to the nearest Electronics Boutique.

RE4 may not be as creepy as the others, but it fixed what was really a broken game. It may be excusable in the first game, but it really had to change. Now perhaps the series could move back to the more survival aspects of the earlier games, but good gravy no tank controls please.

RE4 is just so damn awesome though. I can pick up and play that game anytime. Too bad Wesker isn't in it much.

Yes I do mean smoother controls...well I never played Umbrella Chronicles so I can't compare. Just like Character/Enemy Models, Costumes for characters, Bios, Reports, Movie scenes, etc from the game. You also can get achievements for doing stuff like killing a number of enemies to how many rounds you used. Basic Easy, Normal, and Hard Mode from what I've seen. Oh and up to 2 players can play.

Well it can get repetitive at times. Sometimes your character moves to fast where you can't shoot something fast enough. Maybe improve your partners A.I. bit more to actually help you more in large groups of enemies. Some of the rooms can get very dark so it can get hard to see sometimes. I try not to focus on the negative stuff. I personally liked the game. I don't know if you'll have the same outlook like me. Basically like I said it's Umbrella Chronicles but improved.

It still has tank controls, they just aren't as horrible or obvious. ;)

RE4 was pretty good though, it wasn't big on the survival horror aspect of the series, and the lack of actual zombies was highly disappointing to me. In comparison to RE5 though, it was far scarier.

They say that RE6 won't be using the same kind of format as RE4-5 nor will it be like classic RE's, so what the hell it's going to be I have no idea. Not that it matters much to me anymore, Wesker's death in RE5 killed the series for me, as far as I'm concerned Resident Evil is over with his death.

Why did I have a feeling you didn't know about that. RE5 has been out for so long I just figured if someone hadn't played it yet then they probably never will, so I felt no need to spoiler it.

Yeah, RE5 is pretty much all about him and he dies at the end. The director of the series or whatever went on record and said he truly is dead and won't be coming back.

His death was so lame and unworthy, and considering Wesker has been the evil guy behind the scenes in pretty much every game, his death is the death of Resident Evil for me.

Although he was awesome in RE5, his outfit and powers made me `<3.

I haven't heard anything good about RE5. Frankly at this point Leon is my favorite protagonist, he is the Harrison Ford of Resident Evil. Chris is like Rambo now or something.

I really don't like the series outside of RE4, but the REmake was quite good on the GameCube. Those Crimson Zombies scare the sheet out of me.

Yeah, the tank controls really had to go and I have to sadly agree with you on this. RE4 is just "one of those games".

I'd have to debate with myself here and come up with a decisive action whether to purchase it or not.

No zombies? No parasites? Wesker's death was disappointing actually. I can sit here and debate with you that RE5 was more scarier by pointing out some of the chapters, then again, it may be a futile attempt to do so against Verdugo, U-3, Regenerators, and maybe Del Lago, (Those things with claws, I forgot the name of them), and the dogs.

Lol I just had a feeling you hadn't played it. Woman's intuition or something ;). The only thing I actually like about RE5 was that Wesker came back and was the star of the show, and I have to say they made him a BA in it. Aside from that it's more of an action game than anything, which isn't what I liked about RE, even RE4 was more survival based than RE5.

Hahaha, I like those comparisons. They seem pretty accurate. To be honest I don't know what Chris is though, in RE5 he literally punches a rock the size of car off a ledge. It wasn't teetering on the edge either.

I always hated the Crimson Zombies.

Well I don't own a PS3 or XBOX 360, so you can make a lot of assumptions. ;) There was survival especially in the beginning on the hard mode. So superb. `<3
Yes, he is Rambo. Would you like to throw in Schwarzenegger from Hercules in New York too.? ;)

I know, but... KILL IT WITH FIRE `

Yeah, it had more to do with action, but that "action" kept me occupied for a few days non-stop. my love for RE5 was like a burning candle. The flickering flame would slowly melt away the candle wax.
