I don't think it's funny either,but you should read about the reformation and the subsequent years that followed it. Religion and the medieval mindset caused massacres and civil war over the same god. Christianity in the Western world has caused a lot of Blood shed.

Nope, the civil wars that erupted in France during the 16th Century were because the Catholic majority was trying to eradicate the Protestant minority. Religious Crusades form the 11th and 12th Century were caused directly by the institution of Religion.

I am not suggesting Religion is the cause of every war.I am simply stating that the 13th centuries leading up the to 18th were based within the conflicting Christian denominations. There were exceptions ofcourse, Henry the 8th simply separated the England from the Holy Roman empire in the guise of religous cause,but it was purely political.
