Let's suppose Croc fights Deva, Asura, and Animal, the three strongest paths. Crocodile would probably take it.

Logia makes any attempts on Pain's part useless, save MAYBE CST and CT, both of which require way too much prep to be used against an opponent like Crocodile. Even without logia, Crocodile was taking barrages of Luffy's punches so if Crocodile can't dodge an attack, he can probably tank it.

Crocodile could probably take out Pain with Sables or Ground Death. Crocodile has a variety of powerful sand attacks that would be too overwhelming for Pain.

I think it would be a better match with every single path.

EDIT: Didn't read the location, this makes things a bit harder for Crocodile, but since none of the Pains specialize in water techniques, it would still be difficult for them to kill Croc. Croc's powers are limited here, although it's hard to say how much.

one piece is kindve on a whole different level than naruto... therefor crocodile being a respectable one piece fighter wins casually

I would say Crocodile as well. As long as Crocodile isn't attacked with water, he's one of toughest fighters. His right hand can also absorb water attacks (not talking about physical attacks drenched in water) so that nullifies that weakness. Desert Spada, Desert Encierro, and Barchan are some pretty strong attacks. Not sure if the Pain bodies would function as well when dried like a raisin.

Pain has nothing that can possibly harm Crocodile aside from Human Path, which dies the insant the fight begins and Gedo Mazo which can only be summoned by Nagato, who isn't one of the Six Paths of Pain.
