None of Mayuri's attacks would hit Byakuya, save possibly Bankai, which Byakuya could counter quite easily.

When Mayuri uses Bankai so does Byakuya, and Mayuri gets kinda screwed from there.

If Mayuri doesn't have prep there's little he can do to Byakuya.

How can he possibly poison Byakuya? None of his attacks are sufficient enough to land the hit on Byakuya to actually get him poisoned. Byakuya can use Senkei or Gokei to kill Mayuri.

Poison gas comes out automatically when Bankai activates. However Byakuya is fast enough to get away before it reaches him.
