Reducing Jutsu Damage

ok, the Nine-Tailed Fox Mail says "Weakens all incoming Jutsu", Nine-Tailed Fox Spirit Greaves "Reduces harmful jutsu effects", and the Deceptive Jutsu from the Talent for Genjutsu tag says: "Reduce jutsu damage"...

Question is: What jutsus are weakened? all of them? only Ninjutsus? only Elemental jutsus ( Water, Lightning, Fire, Wind ) ?

The Vest and greaves raises your defense and it says how much it will increase.

When I used Talent for Genjutsu tag on my Anbu, the Deceptive Jutsu seemed like the 3rds Earth Style: Mud Wall. The Bluff symbol was the same. (Sword and Shield) Probably similar to Hidden Leaf Shield.

I'd wager that the armor only reduces elemental damage. Deceptive jutsu is exactly like the 3rd's Mud Wall, and Kakashi's Water Wall. In the cases of those moves I'm pretty sure they reduce damage from ALL Ninjutsu moves.

If someone wants to go on WiFi and take a couple RTD's in the face(2 times in one battle, 1 time without deceptive jutsu, the second time with), just to confirm this, that'd be nice.

I've tried using all the deleted tags.

my characters still miss...
I've never 1 hit anyone with the instand death tag...
Rocklee didn't get any power up while in the back like he should have...

In the end I think they're just junk tags that don't do anything but take up space.

No they were most likely deleted at the last minute, as the creators probably only realized at the last minute how unfair those tags were.

And they're secret tags only obtainable by AR. They can do 100% hit rate, regardless of blindness, KO opponent in one hit, and increase damage in the Front or Back row.

I doubt the armor works like that. They probably say that because they want the Nine Tailed equipment to seem special.

I'm starting to think that way too, or else some buff icon would appear ( like the sword in a golden square when you use deceptive jutsu ) but at the same time, the order it appears in the armor section ( after Kazekage mail ) makes me wonder if it can reduce jutsu damage after all.... hope the test can clarify this

Well seems deceptive jutsu does in fact reduce ALL NINJUTSU damage.

I still can't tell when it comes to the armors though.

So it doesn't really reduces damage after all, at least not from one of the most important jutsus to defend against: RTD

mmm not really, besides Temari Cyclone Jutsu and Dragon Flames Bombs, there isn't another important elemental jutsu to defend.... but knowing deceptive jutsu reduces ALL jutsu damage ( at least defending RTD is worth it ) was very good to know. Thanks a lot for your help Ashen! :)

Well, so elemental jutsu doesn't take into account the defense of the enemy at all? if that's so, then Nine-Tailed Fox Mail in fact reduces elemental jutsu damage. A guy did Phoenix Flower Jutsu on my team, all of them were at the back row; Hinata and Temari received like 100 damage each, and Gaara ( with the mail equipped ) took only 25 damage

Phoenix Flower jutsu is a weak jutsu though, so it's hard to tell if that was because of the armor Gaara had on or if it was just the damage flux.

Now if you got hit by DFB or Cyclone Scythe, then we can definitely conclude something.

Chidori is a Taijutsu, acting like a Ninjutsu.

You got that backwards Avenger. It's Ninjutsu, acting like Taijutsu. Meaning it can be powered up by professor, but it can miss and/or be substituted.

Oh, and it doesn't do any elemental damage either.
