If it took 2 or so years for naruto to pass ninja academy why is he the same age as everyone else?

Because Kishimoto made it that way ;)
Sorry, that's the best explanation I've got

it just doesn't make sence everyone else should have been 10 and he was 12

Maybe they could take it 2 or 3 times a year like the Chunin Exams. If that's the case than he would still be the same age. (That's just a guess, though.)

Or like BaneDeidara said, just cause Kishi made it that way.

That is a good point and as always I am clueless as to the explaination so let's say 'just cause' and leave it at that.

umm...maybe third hokage admitted him in academy earlier, cuz...ummm..he thought since he's 4th hokage's son, he'll do good in academy

Thsi is as close to a good answer you're probly ganna get. He failed his test multiple times, they didn't say anything about how often the tests were given. This means that they might of had to pass so many test within the a period of time to pass. There might be a specific time of year when you have an evaluation of how many tests you've passed that desides if you graduate. X many good marks 'great you get to leave', too many bad ones 'get back in class you slacker'.

I'm with ya there. Thats like the only explanation that makes sence to me.

Naruto-kun started at the acadamy a few years earlier than the rest of us. T-there isn't an age requirement to being a ninja.
