i will only bring this up once, but Kakashi intercepted Raiton Gian, which moved and was propelled like actuall lightening, and a half dead Itachi reacted to and blocked Kirin. Kakashi is hyped to be a lightening timer, and intercepting raiton gian could support this, same with Itachi

and for the record, Itachi and Kakashi are two of the fastest ninja in the manga, and have bar none the fastest reaction speeds



just thought i'd bring this up. and no, there are very few people in naruto verse faster than Itachi and Kakashi, and i am not inclined to say the A is faster, who has never fought either of them two, and Itachi was ALOT faster than Sasuke, and kakashi was toying with him. just like to point that out that Kakashi and Itachi are faster than many people give credit, as our the pains

i'm just saying; lightening timing is present in the Naruto manga, although many will say inconsistency

It might be lightning timing, but that doesn't mean its impressive in the grand scheme of things. The lowest elevation lightning would form at is 10 km, I believe. So if we take the highest stated speed anywhere for lightning- half the speed of light (93,000 km/s; 150,000 km/s) and assume it started 10 km away, and the dude moved a meter or so by the time the bolt struck, then we get:

10 km/150,000 km/s=66.6 microseconds
5 m/66.6 microseconds=75,075 m/s (75 km/s)

Which is a whooping 1/4000th the speed of light, basically. In other words, kudos for the good feat, but it doesn't help much for proving light speed.

P.S.- I used the highest number for lightning's speed here, so don't start quoting this as though its the only speed, the lowest speed would be if he dodged the bolt and it moved at 60 km/s (lowest speed I've seen for lightning), and he'd need to be moving only 32.5 m/s to pull that off.

Though I must echo the disgust at Lightning 227's post. Itachi is NOT a lightning timer, that's the whole point of Sasuke using Kirin- because it is in fact lightning speed, and Itachi wasn't able to dodge it.
