Well how fast is the jutsu?

Hypersonic.

SageoftheSixPaths
06-10-2010, 10:42 AM
So far it's the fastest moving object in the entire series. It easily outstrips Raikage in terms of speed. That puts it at around Mach 7, possibly higher.

No, but you can post the chapter and page number[s] and we can look it up.

Chapter 442, pages 7 and 8

You can see the FRS is only around 20 Cm away there, and it's clear Pein would have to jump at least one meter to avoid it by the time it reaches him. This makes a quick calc very easy.

We'll assume 20 cm is correct, and assuming FRS moves at a hilariously slow sound speed...

.2 m / 343 m/s = .00058 s (Time he has to dodge)

It's easy to see Pein would need to jump at least a meter to avoid getting his legs chopped off, so jumping a meter in that time frame:

1 / .00058 s = 1,724.14 m/s (Speed needed to dodge)

And that's only using a very, very low speed for FRS.

Now call me an idiot to believe Deva paths is low hypersonic or better. Once again, this is using the very slow speed of Supersonic.

SageoftheSixPaths

I believe he used Shinra Tensei to propel himself out of harm's way, which gives him short bursts of insane speed.

Not hypersonic. Just hypersonic reactions. Which is reasonable, especially with his Rinnegan hype.

Watching the Anime, the jutsu took 32 seconds to make it across 15 meters, you can tell the anime was put it in slow motion, doubling the time, so you cut 32 in half you get 16. So the jutsu traveled 15 meters in 16 seconds.

15 meters at 16 seconds
----------------------------
3.125 feet per second
187.5 feet per minute
11,250 feet per hour = 2.1 miles per hour
--------------------------------------
if you cut 32 in half by 3, you get 10.66666666666667
---------------------------------------------------
4.687499999999999 feet per second
281.2499999999999 feet per minute
16874.99999999999 feet per hour = 3.1 miles per hour
---------------------------------------------------
if you cut it in half by 4 you get 8
---------------------------------------------------
6.25 feet per second
375 feet per minute
22,500 feet per hour = 4.2 miles per hour
--------------------------------------------------
if you cut 32 in half by 5, you get 15 meters in 6.4 seconds
--------------------------------------------------------
7.8125 feet per second
468.75 feet per minute
28,125 feet per hour = 5.3 miles per hour
-------------------------------------------------------
cut 32 in half by 6 you get 5.3
-------------------------------------------------------
9.4 feet per second
566 feet per minute
33962 feet per hour = 6.4 miles per hour
-------------------------------------------------------
cut it in half by 7 you get 4.5 seconds to cross 15 meters.
-------------------------------------------------------
11.1 feet per second
666.6 feet per minute
40,000 feet per hour = 7.5 miles per hour
-------------------------------------------------------
cut it in half by 8 you get 4
------------------------------------------------------
12.5 feet per second
750 feet per minute
45000 feet per hour = 8.5 miles per hour
-----------------------------------------------------
if you cut it in half by 9 you get 3.5
-----------------------------------------------------
14.2 feet per second
857.1 feet per minute
51428.5 feet per hour = 9.7 miles per hour
----------------------------------------------------

They would have had to cut 32 in half by 31 for the jutsu to have made it there in 1 second.

50 feet per second
3000 feet per minute
180000 feet per hour = 34 miles per hour

I haven't calced it myself, but from what I heard it's from upper supersonic to lower hypersonic.

its impossible, Naruto was 50 feet away from the paths and even if the jutsu traveled 50 in 0.1 seconds that would make the jutsu's speed at 500 feet per second, 30,000 feet per minute and 1,800,000 feet per hour.

1,800,000 feet per hour = 340 mph (not Hypersonic)

If you look at them you can tell there about 50 feet away, and the greatness speed the jutsu could of had from there is 218 mph.

lets say they were 100 feet away!

100 feet in 0.1 seconds
1000 feet per second
60,000 feet per minute
3,600,000 feet per hour

3,600,000 = 681 mph (not Supersonic or Hypersonic)

Now you can tell there no more then 100 feet away they barely look 50 feet away.

by that you have your speed and No not from the anime.
(lets face it the jutsu didnt make it there in 0.1 seconds)

So the jutsu is nowhere near hypersonic!!!!

Until you come up with an ample calc from the manga this won't even be taken into consideration.

Do the math your self!

50 feet per second is 34mph

I'll break it down for you if you cant.

50 per second, there is 60 seconds in a minute. 50x60=3,000
3,000 feet per minute, there is 60 minutes in a hour. 3,000x60=180,000
180,000 feet per hour, there is 5280 feet in a mile. 180,000/5280=34.0909090909

do the math you'll see i'm right. if there is one thing I know it would be math.

Prove it how far was they away in there and i'll do the math.

Here is the top speed based off feet away from each other and the jutsu making it there in 0.1 seconds.

Top Speed at 50 feet 340mph
Top speed at 100 feet 681mph
Top speed at 150 feet 1022mph
Top Speed at 200 feet 1363mph
Top Speed at 250 feet 1704mph
Top Speed at 300 feet 2045mph
Top Speed at 350 feet 2386mph
Top Speed at 400 feet 2727mph

The list above gives to the feet the jutsu would have had to make it in 0.1 seconds to be that fast.

We know at best Naruto and the paths were 100 feet away, so at best the jutsu is 681mph, but we know the jutsu didnt make it 100 feet in 0.1 seconds, so its not 681mph, but slower.

Also, in your calculation, you estimate Rasenshuriken's speed. Doesn't this defeat the point of the calculation proving Rasenshuriken's speed? You can't use Deva Path's speed to prove Rasenshuriken's, because characters don't move consistently at the same speed, and he didn't necessarily have to be at top speed to evade the Rasenshuriken.

what would your estimate be?I can't estimate. Considering the camera angle, it's really very hard to tell. There was only one panel with both Naruto and the Pains in it on the page you mentioned. If you want to measure how far away they are accurately, you need a good camera angle (bird's eye view or horizontal work best for me) and you need a scale with which to measure the distance. I've only actually done one speed calculation before, but it was one in which I used Sasuke's height to scale distance. Considering the angle the panel is at, it's hard to use something to scale the distance.

using naruto's height 5.4 and using that to scale how far he was from pain on chapter 442 page 5, I came up with about 162 feet.

Ok, lets find out what the jutsu speed is at 162 feet:

0.1 seconds = 11,045mph
0.5 seconds = 441mph
1 second = 110mph
2 seconds = 55mph
3 seconds = 36mph
4 seconds = 27mph
5 seconds = 22mph

this will give you some out look at the speed of the just know we know it took at less 1 second to make it there.

1 second at 1600 feet is = to 1090mph.
1 second at 1700 feet is = to 1159mph.
1 second at 1800 feet is = to 1227mph.
1 second at 1900 feet is = to 1295mph.
1 second at 2000 feet is = to 1363mph.

1 second at 5280 feet is = to 3600mph. (5280 is = to 1 mile.)

Look at the pic on that page you can tell there at a mile away.

at best they may have been 300 meters away from each other and thats 1000 feet, but I highly doubt they were 300 meters from each other.

Do the math.

1 second at 162 feet is = to 110mph.
1 second at 200 feet is = to 136mph.
1 secons at 300 feet is = to 204mph.
1 second at 400 feet is = to 272mph.
1 second at 500 feet is = to 340mph.
1 second at 600 feet is = to 409mph.
1 second at 700 feet is = to 477mph.
1 second at 800 feet is = to 545mph.
1 second at 900 feet is = to 613mph.
1 second at 1000 feet is = to 681mph.
1 second at 1100 feet is = to 750mph.
1 second at 1200 feet is = to 818mph.
1 second at 1300 feet is = to 886mph.
1 second at 1400 feet is = to 954mph.
1 second at 1500 feet is = to 1022mph.
1 second at 1600 feet is = to 1090mph.

OK! OK!

You say the jutsu made it there is 1 Second right?

Ok, if the jutsu traveled 200 feet every second.

There is 60 seconds in a minute.

200x60=12,000 feet every minute.

There is 60 minutes in a hour.

12,000x60=720,000 every Hour.

there is 5280 feet in every mile.

720,000/5280= 136.3636363636364

round that down and you get 136mph.

The math is right, but the fact of the matter is that it was calced by many other debaters from OBD and other forums as well, and it is proven hypersonic.

First off, how is it proven?

do they know how long it took for the jutsu to make it to deva?
I cant see how they would know that, since its imposible to know that from looking at the pic.

First off we know they was not a mile from each other and even at a mile its not hypersonic, only supersonic.

My guess is they were maybe 50 meters apart maybe 100 meters at best.

well FRS crosses the entirety of konoha crater; how large is konoha? being whats basically a smaller city, its likely around few mile in size, but this needs measurment. also keep in mind Kishi's drawing s are not always accurate to scale to others. he tries, but there not always perfect

I don't know. I'm not the one who calced it. But they have a different and IMO more accurate way to find it.

It never crossed the crater, first off, Deva and Naruto werent in the village. Second off Naruto and Deva just attacked each other with Taijutsu, and Naruto kick him into a wall. meaning they were close to each other, not a crater apart.

So you fail.

I now remember. It crossed several mountains in a few seconds and that made it hypersonic.

Are you serious? It's called the Konoha Crater. You know, the thing Pain made with his Almighty Push?

FRS traveled across the Konoha Crater, which is mountain sized, making it hypersonic.
