He doesn't have to because Zabuza will be dead by the time he uses it. But for kicks let's just say Temari blows it away or something. There's nothing Zabuza and Haku can do to harm Gaara in any way, so either way, he just needs to wait for them to make a futile attempt at attacking him and then counterattack.

no it wouldnt. since theres so much water near, Zabuza uses water clones to distract Gaara Then Sneaks up behind Gaara + Traps him in a Water Prison
