I think he is still alive, because if he is gone, then the beast is supposed to be completely sealed inside the death reaper.

Yeah I think he's alive secretly. Although much of that spawned from the fact that on Naruto.com episode 86 had an image of him. So I thought that maybe he comes back to life or shows up mysteriously. Only now am I starting to realize he may be truly dead. Or he might still be alive like his old sensei...

Here is why I said he is alive:
How did Minato know of Pain being a pawn.
How did he know about Akutsuki.
How did he know about the Masked man.
He might be spying on Madara, and that could be why he did not take his mask off, or I think that Danzou is Izuno taking orders from Madara, and Madara is hiding because, he might know someone is spying on him.

Only the yin part of Kyuubi's chakra was sealed using the reaper death seal. He sealed the yang part into Naruto with a tetragram seal. Jiraiya said it in chapter 370.
I don't know what that means, but I suspect we'll find out.
Unfortunately, Minato is really dead.

Here is why I said he is alive:

it wasnt a spirit, really, it was his chakra within naruto that he left incase the seal broke, remember when he said, my chakra is running out, and he was gonna need to go soon?

Before I learned Itachi was really good, I would have ignorantly called a threat "Do you think Itachi is really good?" the stupidest thread. But then I'd be the idiot. I very much doubt it (the evidence is overwhelming in the opposing case), but until it's confirmed, I guess we'll have to wait for Mr. Kishimoto to let us know!

Well, he technically did, if Naruto broke the seal, he would have destroyed the whole country. he might be hiding, or he might be sealed inside Naruto. He might be spying, on the Akutsuki or the "masked man".
And he cannot be a spirit, because he has chakra, and he said he saw everything from within, which means he might have sealed a bit of chakra of himself within Naruto, to advise him, and protect the seal. He might have used all that chakra to fix the seal, and might not appear again.

If he were alive, I'm pretty sure we would all know.
But since he hasn't been seen at all except in flashbacks and Naruto's mind that one time, (I think) doesn't that pretty much confirm he's dead? And if he were alive wouldn't he have helped the village or something?

Guys, he said he is running low chakra, so a spirit cannot have chakra, I think he sealed himself inside Naruto, his consiscous exists in Naruto, and I think that if they try the Beast sealing technique on Naruto, then Minato could come out too, I think that could happen, because it would be kind of cool, I see this highely unlikely though.

I also think he's dead and comes back as a sprit to help Naruto that one time in Manga 45 or 46 i think but i'm not sure and I think Naruto learns more about his past at the same time in the same book I think not sure .

Minato sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of Naruto, the process took away his life in return. So yes, unfortunately, he's dead.

From what i understand he's in the Akatsuki. I've seen pictures of Minato chained up like he was some kind of beast. He had black lines going down his face and had a wild look in his eyes. Scary gives me chills

I do not believe he was a spirit, he had chakra, so he is not a spirit, and he used his chakra to get there, so he could be sealed inside Naruto as well, and might have to use chakra to guide him.

he could have used the reaper death seal on himself to seal a part in naruto idk just a guess.....

You can't jump to conclusions about Minato. You need more evidence if Naruto's daddy is alive or not.

that could be true, as I have already said before, he could have sealed himself inside naruto to help control the kyubi, and his chakra could be the thing that is suppressing the kyubi's, but the shadow is that Naruto is catching up to Minato.

Not to be rude or anything but this debate is getting ridiculous, Minato is as dead as they come and sure he appeared in Naruto's consciousness but a person can't just fade away only a spirit can do that. Another thing I wanna clear up is that Minato is deffinitely one of my favorite characters which is obvious because of my name. Anyway as much as I'd like for him to be alive, he's not and that won't change, Minato just happened to appear to Naruto in a similar way Asuma appeared to Shikamaru only with Minato's case it was more physical.
