What's with the sudden complaints about the animation quality in Naruto Shippuden lately? I mean I'm not at all bothered with whether or not people have a problem with the visual quality in Shippuden, but why are people complaining about this now? Animation quality with Naruto was never usually perfect! Only like what, a handful of episodes had really spendid animation? And mostly had Norio Matsumoto as the key animator. So I'm suprised this is still news to some people. Maybe since the current arc is supposedly a major turning point, a highlight in so many ways for the Naruto story that fans are eagerly anticipated the animators don't disappoint.

But seriously, if you look back at even some of the other episodes and examine carefully. The timing in the animations look slow, with not a lot of character consistency, lack of use of squash and stretch, anticipatory action, or secondary action. The only episodes that seem to have really good animations in the frist series were 19, 30, 48, 71, and 133. And in Shippuden, episodes 26, 42, 82, 85, 123, 131, 133, 135, 138, and that's probably. And again, Norio Matsumoto when recruited as key animator did about six of all the epiosdes I listed.

So Naruto episodes aren't always good. Hell, ANY shonen anime doesn't often times have good animation. Not even One Piece has the best animations all the time. There might have been good character design consistency throughout the first half of that show, but animations were never always smoothly paced or something. It felt like the framerate of the animations were 80% of the time on 3s or 4s and not on 1s or 2s. Not that I hate One piece or Naruto or other Shounen. But this is sort of the norm.

However fans need to understand that when the average animator is recruited to spend hours and hours a day drawing so many frames of the same character in different angles, making sure each penciled drawing looks clean and neat, when recorded, for 5-6 days a week, every week for years and years and years, that get's RIDICULOUSLY tidious! Especially when these animators don't usually get paid a whole lot anyway! I read somewhere that in-betweeners and key frame animators get paid 1/4 of what American's get paid. It was even mentioned on ANNCast that not many college students in art schools in Japan who are training to be animators, don't have that inspired, auteur attitude like "I'll be the next Hayao Miyazaki!"

I don't think they will make bad animations because it has never happened rasen-shuriken on kakuzu was fine and itachi-sasuke battle had a great animated Susano'o.

omg a spolier....i didnt want to know naruto used rasen-shuriken, i thought he cant use it anymore because of damages it does to the user and aswell as to the opponent...

the rokubi filler arc had good animation too. and right now the pain invasion arc's animation is going good. oh, and if the animation is sooo worse than try comparing to the three tailed arc's animation.....
