It would cost much less money and save a lot of resources to just exclusively release the episodes in boxed sets. It must be annoying to keep buying so many DVDs for just four episodes apiece. Abandoning the 4-episode DVD idea and just releasing box sets would:

- Save money for both the manufacturer of the DVDs, and the people who buy them
- Save DVD-making resources so that more DVDs can continue to be made without a shortage of DVDs
- Save a lot of room in a person's home

This is what Funimation does. No individual DVDs for them.

This is just a good suggestion.

Viz makes more money by selling them individually and in box sets.

@OP: I agree, but people who want more in their anime DVD colection probaby like having the volumes.

I don't really like buying the DVDs, as I literally don't have enough for either the box sets or the volumes. But I usually tend to buy the box sets when I do have enough, since it'd be a huge waste of money to buy individual volumes at different times.

It would use less amount of resouces, since they wouldn't all be used for something that can come out all at once, but that's just my opinion.

EDIT: But like Kuroda said, they make more money that way.

I seriously want Viz to go Box Set only for Naruto Shippuden, but I doubt this will ever happen.

I was just about to say this.

And they make A LOT more money from selling the DVDs than they less manufacturing them.

You do know that Boxsets still have the same number of respective disks then the amount of Volumes do for that lot of episodes right? First Box set is 13 episodes thats still 3 disks that have to be made, regardless of weather they do volumes or not there still making the same number of DVD's per boxset then when they would make the respective number of volumes.

Maybe the boxing and packagaing maybe less but even then it's still doesn't save much money, making both may cost more, but in the long runs makes larger profit.
