Madara Uchiha as the Mizukage

Okay, remember that one episode when Tobi A.K.A Madara Uchiha showed Kisame his true identity and Kisame said he was once the Mizukage of The Hidden Mist Village, that's what I don't get how could he(Madara) became a Mizukage and the Hidden Leaf not knowing that???? Should they atleast known????

He was a Mizukage a long ago, probably. And then they all thought he died (Except Minato), I guess!

I think that he wasn't officially Mizukage. He could have been controlling Yagura and only a few people, like Kisame, were aware of that so they called him Mizukage, even if he wasn't the real one.

We haven't actually seen Tobi's face, which is why so many people (myself included) are suspect that Tobi isn't actually Madara. But he takes off his mask for Kisame in 142.
