If sasori starts in hiruko or without the 3rd kazekage puppet then he gets blitzed by gaara's sand from the beginning and gets crushed.

If he starts with 3rd kazekage puppet out then he would have a solid chance. It would depend on how gaara's sand could tank the iron sand, however i think an iron sand drizzle would most lekely kill gaara.

So in most cases gaara, but depending on certain situations sasori might win.

Gaara easily beats Sasori in Hiruko. From there on, location matters in this one. If Gaara is in the desert, he will just use Sand Tsunami to beat Sasori True Form and his 100 puppets. Anywhere else, Gaara will need some prep time in order to do Sand Tsunami by grinding up the minerals in the Earth underground, if I'm not mistaken.

Sasori with the 3rd vs. Gaara can be equal in my eyes. Both have relatively the same jutsu.

Im going with sasori.. the kazekages puppet completely owns gaara.. not only is the iron sand drenched in poison, but so is all of sasoris weopans. gaara gets hit one time, and yes.. it is over. iron sand would easily overpower normal sand any day due to its weight, and the fact that the iron sand can form into mass weopans that could easily pierce through gaaras sand is an inevitable own.

If Sasori is in Hiruko then I choose Gaara. If he is not, then Sasori. It really depends on circumstances such as these.

If Sasori starts in Hiruko, then Sand Coffin/Burial combo blitzes him before he has a chance to do anything else.

Otherwise, Iron Sand>Regular Sand in both speed, power, and poison coated-ness. Location is also important for Gaara fights. If it's Sunagakure or some other desert-like environment, he has far better chances at winning. Whether or not he has Shukaku also powers him up slightly.

With the very vague OP, I'm going to say Gaara if Sasori starts in Hiruko, and Sasori if otherwise.

on nuetrl terrian Gaara can more than defend himslef, but Sasori has the slight advantage maybe

Well Gaara's sand armor was able to withstand a few punches by gated lee before cracking,

so I assume it could hold its own against needles....

If it's Hiruko, Gaara crushes it. If Sasori with 3kazekafe he wins with Iron Sand World Order, cause iron sand>sand also the iron sand made sharp objects that could pierce Gaara's defence.

Proof? Gaara has only shown the ability to control regular sand, not the 3rd Kazekage's iron powder.

Gaara has one advantage that could beat sasori, he uses sand which sasori himself stated, renders puppets useless.(i dont think he just means the iron sand renders puppets useless. it makes sence that any sand would clog puppets up.) So yeh Gaara would probably beat sasori because of the great disadvantage sasori would have.

Gaara would win, absolutely. It's actually pretty self-explanatory. Gaara's sand would incapacitate every puppet within range.

At the beginning of Shippuden, Gaara probably couldn`t win. Now, I think Gaara probably has an advantage!!! :D

I think Sasori would win. I dont think Gaara's Ultimate defense could stop iron sand. And it's poisoned, and Gaara doesn't have any antidotes. Besides, Sasori has more experience in battle, he himself said he took down a whole nation. But you should of also specified where they are fighting, restrictions, and have been more specific.
