Hidan really is so religious and conservative when he wants to do things with Kakuzu. The scythe-carrying Akatsuki member has his immortality with Kakuzu reattaching the former's head back on. Hidan did kill Asuma before Shikamaru thoughtly finish Hidan off with Asuma's lighter. If Hidan didn't have immortality, would he be the same or not?

Pfft, no. He wouldn't be Hidan; he'd be dead. His carelessness and cockiness were enough to get him killed about twenty times over without immortality. `:P

He would be the same.
The immortality added an exciting feature to him and worked for the type of fighting that the author wanted him to do, but Hidan has other skills besides that.
What people don't realize about Hidan is that what we saw him do was the Jashin ritual. It wasn't a jutsu.
Hidan however was a ninja pretty much his whole life, and the Jashin religion was relatively new.
So my point: Hidan has skills outside of the Jashin ritual, as evidenced by the databook stats and the simple fact alone that Hidan was a shinobi before he was a Jashinist.
I would love to have seen Hidan fight as a shinobi and not a Jashinist. Well we do see some of that with his skills, but I'd like to see more.
However, we won't, because Kishimoto wants to keep that character swept under the rug because he's afraid to bring him back. Hidan takes people out of their comfort zone because he's a surprisingly realistic and gritty character.

No, his usual self wouldn't be so eager to rush into battle without a care to injuries and his Jashin rituals helped him to sustain his immortality, so no more of those. I don't think he'd be as bloodthirsty either. Plus, Hidan would be a tad more cautious about life threatening wounds or blood loss.

Nope. Hidan would be himself if he didn't had immortality. In the Japanese version of Shippuden, he was so conservative on what he did and with Kakuzu. He always aruged with the money-loving Akatsuki member that money and religion don't mix. I wonder what Hidan could be in English pretty soon.

Even if he wasn't immortal, as long as Hidan continues to curse anyone and everything around him, then he will always be Hidan.

I don't think so and probably won't live very long since Kakuzu would killed him
