Come on they made it a little short after the arguement between Kakashi and obito 4th Hokage gives people kunais. then Obito at the hideout where Rin is.
Can't they put some between there like when Obito was getting there or when kakashi changesn his mind to save Rin. Or the ending like putting Obitos memorial something like that it just went a little fast. But overall a sad and good special.

I think there is something in that episode that they were saying and my prediction is Madara took Obito's body to use as his own and get a new eye but I could be wrong.

I think it was long enough, I'm not entirely sure what would've gone into it to make it longer that would've had any point. It was really just Kishi stalling for time to get character designs done for Shippuden, and to fill up space in Volume 27 so that Shippuden and the Original Naruto could be seperate volume sets.
