Bandages

i've always been curious as to why at certain times a character has bandages. of course i understand they are used because of training and such but otherwise i'm lost. like, i think it was in the Naruto OVA 2, sasuke had his legs totally bandaged. And then, sometimes the characters just have a random wrap around their left or right leg. Anyone have a theory why?

to prevent muscle straining and injuring, look at those gymnasts, sometimes they have bandages around their hands, etc. or maybe thats a way kishi design the character

I think that they think that other characters think it looks cool
