gaara doesnt count, im almost 100% sure that if gaara didnt bother wasting all his chakra to contain that huge bomb to protect the village, he wud of killed deidara. it seemed so weird to me that that move made gaara pass out long enough for sasori and deidara to bring him back to the lair and suck out his bijuu without him ever waking up. and most of that team guy fight was spent running away rather than fighting

That's the nine tail's power, Shuaku's power gives the host the ability to control sand. And Gaara has learned to control Shukaku because if he didn't then the village would fear him again `:|

We never see him use sand after Shukaku is extracted....(well not until somewhere later in manga) The Shukaku is suppose to give its host the ability to control sand for the rest of their life, even if they lose Shukaku.
